Guest guest
writes regarding Dr. Bernstein's book: " ...such an obsessive meal plan. (Does anybody really eat that way - 1/4 yam, 1/3 c peas, etc.?) " First, I eat " that way " (rarely over 25 g. carbs/day and almost never over 30), and I suspect that I am not alone. I do not consider it " obsessive " any more than regular testing or any other means of maintaining normal blood sugars. Personally, I intend to control my diabetes by diet without meds if or as long as I can. Meds do have their own risks. I have no problem with using them when needed, but " when needed " v. the risks is the issue we each face with differing conclusions.
