Guest guest Posted December 29, 2001 Report Share Posted December 29, 2001 We got Toy Story, Toy Story II, and Bug's Life from my dad for Christmas. Last night we put in Bug's Life and Matt and I curled up on the couch. Gabe was in bed & Mikey was running around. *happysigh* It was nice. Mikey ended up on the couch next to Matt, curled up with us and watching the movie avidly. At the scary parts, he picked up Matt's hand, covered his own eyes with it, and scrunched closer. At the funny parts, he laughed. There is not a laugh track and we did not laugh first. I was and still am astonished. He watched it. He understood it. He responded to it. This would not have happened a month ago. There have been a couple of videos that he has watched over and over and over again, and recently started to laugh at parts where people on the video laugh. I did not know if he was laughing because he though it was funny or if he was mimicking the laugh on TV. Either way it was a positive. But this was very clear... He is taking a nap now. The 4 of us were just downstairs watching a movie.. and Tommy was in my lap.. the movie was Evolution (with Moulder from X-files).. anyhow.. when one of the " aliens " jumped out.. Tommy jumped and hurled into laughter!..lol It was wonderful. Thats the first time he's ever reacted to a movie like that.. Putter loved Toy Story so much that we called it Boy Story and he was about Mikey's age. He certainly seemed to understand what was going on.
