Guest guest
Hi guys Thanks for the replies. We are really considering the helmut and I plan to call the place that makes them after the 1st of the yr. Dylan suffers more (from the pic's ive seen) from the other head flatness that begins with a B (brachycelphaly?) but the spelling and exact pronunciation is not coming to me right now. Have any of you had experience with this and were your results good? Also it sounds like you all only had your babies wearing the helmut for 3 months- they told me 4-5 months which seems so long- We live in the Los Angeles area & Dylan > > > Hi Group > > > We are new here and havent posted yet but Ive really kept myself > > > busy reading all your posts > > > Anyway my son Dylan, 6 months old, has flatness on his left > side. > > > When he went in for his 4 month appt dr noticed his head shape a > > bit > > > off- so she rec. us to see a specialist. Guest guest
Hi : You're very close on the spelling, it's " brachycephaly " , and many of our group members babies had brachy. I'm sure you'll get some replies. If you are in the LA area, you may want to go to one of the Cranial Technology clinics for a free evaluation. There are 2 Cranial Techs in CA, visit their website " clinic locations " to see if they are near you www.cranialtech.com Cranial Tech also have " severity assessment forms " they created, we have those in our " links " section, as well as on Cranial Tech's website. Good luck with everything, keep us posted. Guest guest
We were originally told Jenna would have the band 5 to 6 months. It all depends on the babies growth and when you are satisified with the correction received. Angie and Jenna Re: and Dylan- Also Brachycelphaly vs Plagiocephaly Hi guysThanks for the replies. Guest guest
, Sorry to welcome you so late, but this time of year is crazy! My son is going on his 4th month in his band. He was 7 months old when he was banded and has not yet had a growth spurt. The length that any child wears a band is individual and depends on numerous factors. The type of band, the age of the child and the severity of the assymetry drives the length of treatment. Welcome again, and feel free to ask any question that you may have! Happy Holidays. - mom to Aidan STARband 08/26/03 and 12/19/03 Grand Rapids, MI > > > > Hi Group > > > > We are new here and havent posted yet but Ive really kept > myself > > > > busy reading all your posts > > > > Anyway my son Dylan, 6 months old, has flatness on his left > > side. > > > > When he went in for his 4 month appt dr noticed his head shape > a > > > bit > > > > off- so she rec. us to see a specialist.
