Guest guest
Helen, I'm on a low glycemic diet so I'll tell you what I eat. I eat the following pretty freely: All protein including eggs, nuts, cheese, beef, lamb, fish, chicken, turkey I limit legumes due to their high carb content though they most are low-glycemic All good fats including butter, olive oil, mayonnaise, cream, sour cream, etc. All vegetables except potatoes I don't eat any rice or other grains, but 100% whole grains and brown rice are low glycemic Today I had a pepper, onion and cheese omelette for breakfast plus coffee w/half and half and sweet n low handful of mixed nuts for mid-morning snack Tuna mixed with mayo and celery and carrot sticks for lunch lots of green tea throughout the day Dinner: Meatloaf (I don't use breadcrumbs) nice tossed assorted greens salad with onions scallions and tomatoes olive oil and apple cider vinegar dressing Broccoli with butter Re: Need a low glycemic diet site Anyone have a low glycemic diet or site they can send me to? Guest guest
Helen, The Zone diet books have good glycemic lists in them and how to combine foods so that you're eating a protein, carb and fat in balance. The books are good but as with everything else they market a ton of their own stuff too, don't know much about that as I stick with whole foods primarily. Also just google glycemic index, you can look through and find one that's easy for you to use. Guest guest
, Hopefully this isn't commercial mayonaise. That type of mayonaise is not a good fat. Guest guest
As far as I know, there is no hydrogenated oil in even commercial mayo like Hellman's or Cain's. So unless soybean oil is a problem, this is not a bad fat IMO. Guest guest
Soybean oil is the problem. That's why it's so bad.
