Guest guest
Ok-- I took my first Alesse today. I decided that I can't PROVE to the doctor that my burning will get worse with BC Pills UNLESS I try them. If I do get better--than I have that added bonus!! But the second I swollowed that little pill, I got scared. I got a bad case of the " what if's " going on. What if this DOES make things worse? I keep reading that BC Pills are a factor in yeast and since I think I have a yeast problem (not vaginally but all over in the skin) then I am worried this is just going to add to the problem. Then I start thinking that I know LOTS of women you take BC pills and NEVER have yeast. Oh, my head is swimming and my stomach is in knots. Anyone have anything good to say? Anyone taking BC pills and not having a yeast problem????? Lynn
Guest guest
Hi Lynn, Alesse is the only BC I've ever been on, and it's been 4 years. I've never had any problems with it, even with the first 3 months where you may get some side effects. I was on Alesse before I knew I had vv/vag so I'm not sure if it had anything to do with that. Personally, I doubt it, but every woman's different. Good luck! Guest guest
Hey Chantal, I am about to start taking Alesse too. What sort of side effects did you have? Did it give you zits? I'm about to switch to Alesse because Ortho-Cyclen kills my sex drive. in SF > Hi Lynn, > > Alesse is the only BC I've ever been on, and it's been 4 years. The only side effect I did notice was when the 3 months was almost over, I got diarrhea. But really that was it. I was paranoid because I read the whole little instruction booklet inside the box and I prepared myself for the worst. Obviously the healthier you are, the better it might be for you. Guest guest
Lynn, please let us know how the Alesse thing goes for you. If you've read about it in Screaming To Be Heard, you already know that Vliet thinks Alesse does not have enough estrogen in it for women with perimenopausal symptoms. But she could be wrong, and I surely hope it helps you!!! Once I find and go to a doctor who knows something about perimenopause, it may well be that s/he will want me to be on BC. I (selfishly, I know) would like to know what your experience is, since you and I seem to have many symptoms in common. Thanks!
