Guest guest
i am ok now. the migraine went the day after the needle. thanks for your concern. i am in a bad space in my head today because i lost a baby bird... one of mysti's chicks. 3 weeks old happy healthy baby just suddenly dropped dead. the polyoma virus nightmare is starting to seem more and more like reality. if that is the case mysti and skylar will have to retire from breeding and i will test breed any surviving chicks to see if they shed it to their chicks or not. it is impossible to get rid of it from the house here because even if i was to put down every bird here and totally clean the place and then buy more it would be almost certain that the new stock would be carriers. most birds are here. Guest guest
Oh Hillary, You really have my mind working - I have a lot of repo experience, but of course it's all geared toward keeping the baby off the back of the head!! I have to try and think back to what flattened the back of my own daughter Remy's head. The carseat was at the top of the list. Before we knew about plagio, we had two really puffy strap wings in her carseat that went over each of her shoulders and wouldn't even let her turn her head to the side. She also loved her swing, which had practically no padding in it. She used to take her naps in there, swinging for hours, which I think contributed to the back of her head flattening. Do you let him spend a lot of time or even nap in a swing?? I'm going to think on it, and try and post some more! Take care, Christie (Mom to Repo'd Remy) > ok i am sorry i didnt mean to start a debate yes its worrisome angie that they bring that up after i thought it was totally ruled out i might call and make an apt with the dr to reveiw his ct scan and see if he issure its not a possiblty the neuro we saw says defin not craino said proably postional problems, then ct says well its is some what postional but that he appears to look like craino to her but since the ct ruled it out she said she guessed it wasnt but she didnt sound all that sure of coarse that proably isnt her area as much as plagio is i dont know i will think a bit and watch his head and hoping repostioning him will help alot poor things hates bieng on his back for long periods i have had him strappedi n his carseat alot today its about the only way tokeep him from turning to the side much ugh sucks, he loves to lay on his belly and to scoot around i feel like an orgor any other ideas on how to keep a 5mos old wiggle worm on the back of their heads? i have bought lots of toys to dangle over his head, moblies and activity gyms, my friend said to try a boopy? > hillary kcmo > Re: Swollen eye - Cranial facial > > > > > > Hillary, > > The person you saw at CT probably has more plagio knowledge then > any > > doctor you could see. Guest guest
Hillary, There is no need for you to apologize!! I think you should look into a second opinion. A second opinoin is always a good thing. Not to worry you but it is possible that from the time the CT scan was done until now, that a suture may have fused. --- In Plagiocephaly , " Steve Barlow " <sbarlow@m...> wrote: > ok i am sorry i didnt mean to start a debate yes its worrisome angie that they bring that up after i thought it was totally ruled out i might call and make an apt with the dr to reveiw his ct scan and see if he issure its not a possiblty the neuro we saw says defin not craino said proably postional problems, then ct says well its is some what postional but that he appears to look like craino to her but since the ct ruled it out she said she guessed it wasnt but she didnt sound all that sure of coarse that proably isnt her area as much as plagio is i dont know i will think a bit and watch his head and hoping repostioning him will help alot poor things hates bieng on his back for long periods i have had him strappedi n his carseat alot today its about the only way tokeep him from turning to the side much ugh sucks, he loves to lay on his belly and to scoot around i feel like an orgor any other ideas on how to keep a 5mos old wiggle worm on the back of their heads? i have bought lots of toys to dangle over his head, moblies and activity gyms, my friend said to try a boopy? > hillary kcmo > Re: Swollen eye - Cranial facial > > > > > > Hillary, > > The person you saw at CT probably has more plagio knowledge then > any > > doctor you could see. Guest guest
well like alie did i went back and looked at his orginal photos i took to show the ped and the neuro his change in head shape and omg i cant beleive how much better he looks now compared them ackkkk. how the neuro turned us as away for plagio is beyond me good lord his head was odd i am soo much happer with the shape now i just wish his face would be more symaertical i wish i had a way to fix that but we will try tortureing him in his carseat for a few weeks and see how it does he just learnig to roll over so he is a bit slow i hate to leave him like that but if it will help, do youthink it will delay his gross motor skills? how manyhours a day should i have him sleep in his carseat with a nap i dont think he would sleep all night in it hillary in kcmo Re: Swollen eye - Cranial facial> > > > > > Hillary,> > The person you saw at CT probably has more plagio knowledge then > any > > doctor you could see. Guest guest
Hillary i am so glad you have seen great correction since his original photos. Guest guest
Hillary, I don't believe I am saying this. But, definitely let him sleep in it for naps (but make sure it's in his crib or on the floor - just in case he gets feisty). I would still give him plenty of floor time for developmental reasons, like you said. Do you have one of those gyms that hangs the toys above the baby? That may help. Maybe when you feed him position him so the back of his head is against you (is that possible - I don't remember if you are nursing). Guest guest
I put Connor on his face to sleep for around 5-6 hours a day, and its making a difference, I would put him in it to sleep as much as he will let ya, Hillers.
