Friday night: Surfed the web for HOURS. Played computer pinball til I couldn't see. Blasted Matchbox Twenty the whole time. Watched Matchbox Twenty special on music channel at midnight. Took a bubble bath. ALONE. In SILENCE. Saturday: Slept til 9:30. Took an obscenely long shower. Nesbitt came at noon, went out for 4 1/2 hour-long lunch. Laughed til my face hurt. Hadn't seen him in a year. If he doesn't get a new kidney soon, he may not be here next year. (I already knew that, that's why we could laugh instead of cry for 4 hours) Looked for something to paint. Found some glass jars. Basecoated the jars while watching " A Passage To India " , a three-hour long movie based on the EM Forster book which dh would not be caught dead watching. Watched Saturday Night Live. Sunday: Slept til 9:30. Called my mom. Read the paper. Watched god TV and found myself wondering why a christian isn't a christian unless they've converted -- almost ordered the brochure he was advertising to find out what the heck THAT meant. (according to this guy, born-again christians, catholics, and the salvation army are all NOT good christians -- WHAT????) Called Marc and -- they were playing a computer game, and I could hear laughing, and that made me HAPPY. Came up here to check email. What's next: THE YUCKY PART. When leaving on Friday, Marc gave me a mission: to clean up the cold room in the basement. Why is this yucky? Because 6 months ago, Marc and I had a huge fight, and I stormed out. When I came home, he and were gone. No note, no nothing. I was enraged and hysterical. I went down to the cold room, opened up a box of ceramic dishes we had stored there...and smashed them, one by one. THEN, we babysat those hideous cats...and they repeatedly sprayed the cold room. So now I have to go down and clean up the carnage of stinky broken dishware. BLECH. Teaches ME to have a tantrum! There you go, Tracey! Guest guest
Well, other than the cleaning the cold room part, it sounds very nice! When you did it, wasn't the breaking dishes kind of satisfying? I've always wanted to do that. Tracey

I once threw a coffee table through a glass patio door. The breaking, the shattering, the sheer destruction was cathartic. I wish I could say I don't do it anymore, but I still do -- on a smaller scale. The day soaked my needlepoint with freezie I threw a container of bath salts against the wall, spraying crystals all over the stairs...but it's not so bad as it used to be. Psychs always say to punch a pillow or cushion or something, but it's not the same. Marc got a 100lb punching bag for Christmas...I'm wondering if that will do the trick. Soft targets do not work. Glass on glass, metal on glass, glass on metal, anything where you can " feel " the impact in your head just my the sound the impact makes. Pillows? Nope...sorry. Penny - who's " shattered " a few items herself.
