Guest guest
Your Ferritin is still low. But it shouldn't be causing serious palps as it is close to being good. When are you taking the thyroid and HC? Sometimes a little tweak in the timing of the doses will fix things right up. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV My Ebay Jewelry Store (Closing after Xmas!!!) http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Guest guest
I take 10 MG HC at 6 am, then 5 at 10 AM, 2 PM and 6 PM. Total 25 mg I take 1 grain of Armour at 6 am, 1/2 grain at 10 AM, 1/2 grain at 2 PM and 1/4 at 6 PM Total 2 1/4 grains Should I go ahead and take some iron to see if it helps. It would be best to get your Ferritin to between 70-90. Now for the HC dosing. Are you having fatigue or shakiness during the day or evenings? If not that is good, but most of us that are taking that much in the day need a bedtime dose. I would either add an additional 5MG at bedtime OR split your 6PM dose to 2.5 at 6 and 2.5 at bedtime. Guest guest
Why are you going " back down on everything " ? Did the doctor tell you to cut back on Armour because your TSH read as <cough> " low " ? Low TSH when supplementing with Armour is supposed to happen. You judge your Armour by how you feel & perhaps the frees, not the TSH. You're not producing TSH because your already supplying your body with the T4/T3. Your pituitary doesn't need to keep telling your thyroid to make hormones, it's already there. > > My doctor just called with my new labs! She is faxing them to me > but I won't see them till later. Guest guest
No, I didn't tell the doctor I had gone up to 2 1/4. She thought I was still at 2, suggested I go down to 1 3/4 but said I could stay at 2 if I wanted to. SO, since I am feeling bad at 2 1/4, having heart palps, higher blood pressure, fatigue....going up isn't helping and the lab were good at 2 so thought I would go back there and see if I felt better. I guess I was just wanting to go to that 3 to 5 dose that is optimal for most people it seems from what I read. Guess I just don't need it. I would really be hyper it I got that high beebe Re: New Labs Why are you going " back down on everything " ? Did the doctor tell you to cut back on Armour because your TSH read as <cough> " low " ? Guest guest
Yes, I am having fatigue during the day. I just worry about going up to 30MG by adding that 5 mg at bedtime. I will try that tonight. I know that you eventually went up to 30MG didn't you? How long did you stay on it? Do you think that my Armour is okay at 2 grains? My heart is pounding now! I will get some iron and see if that helps. Thanks so much Val. By the way, I hope you are getting your insulin figured. You help us all and then have so much to worry about for yourself too. Guest guest
What are your ferritin (storage iron) levels? Most hypos do best at 70-90. If you're low, you tend to get hyper symptoms when you try to increase. Also, maybe your aldosterone levels are low? That will stop you from being able to raise your Armour. More info here: http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=581 " ...Hypothyroidism can mask hypoaldosteronism. If you are on proper cortisol replacement and Armour (happens usually with less than 3 grains) is causing your pulse to go into the 90's or higher (I've seen some that will reach 120 or more before treating their hypoaldosteronism), then definately test aldosterone, renin, sodium and potassium and get opinions of these tests... Guest guest
good for you . My doctor is starting to use some sort of supplement that she has some friends and other doctors that have used it. She is going to let me have 3 months free to see if it helps. She is also offering it to a patient with Lupus and some others. It will be interesting to see exactly what it is and what it can do. I will keep you posted. I am supposed to talk to the other doctor next week in a 3 way phone conference!! Guest guest
Do you KNOW you're low on ferritin via lab testing? It's not good to suuplement iron if you don't. Excessive iron has serious side effects & is difficult to remove from the body. If your doc can't/won't test, you can do it yourself thru HealthCheckUSA. Just ferritin is $25. Use discount code 12345 to save an extra 10%. They also have a comprehensive package called VIP Plus II for $125 (- discount) that includes ferritin & a thyroid panel, among others. Details: Includes Total Cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and Ratios, Triglycerides, Glucose(Diabetes), Kidney, Liver, and Heart Functions, Potassium, Calcium, Uric Acid, Electrolytes, Iron, Ferritin, PLUS a CBC (Complete Blood Count) and Comprehensive Thyroid Profile II: Free T3, Free T4, and TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone). Here's a link to just the ferritin: https://www.healthcheckusa.com/testdetails.asp?productid=60 You order it, they mail you paperwork, you go to a local lab for the blood draw. In about a week, results are avaiable online & mailed to you. > > Thank you . Guest guest
Sounds liek somehow youi were able to utilize some T3. Guest guest
That was my thought also about the stress dosing. I am still going down with the standing BP so I am going to move up to 40 HC even tho I reallly don't want to. Where would you suggest I put the other 2.5mg. I do the followiang: 6am 10mg 8am 2.5mg 10 am 10 mg Noon 2.5mg 2pm 5mg 4pm 2.5mg Bed 5mg Boy my cortisol was really low. I did not take HC or T3 before that 8am blood draw. Guess I was worse than I even thought. How long do you think it will take to build it back up and any suggestions on what to do and not to do to get it there. I need all the help I can get. Thanks.... > Sounds liek somehow youi were able to utilize some T3. Guest guest
Yes Val I think the same thing about the stress dosing. I must have kept up enough cortisol that got some T3 thru. However, with my cortisol so low I know I really have a problem here. The blood test showed how really low I am cause I did not take HC or T3 before the test. I have been busy the last couple of days and can really tell I am tired. I am going to up my HC to 40mg as much as I hate to. My schedule is as follows, where should I put the next 2.5mg?? 6am...10mg 8am...2.5 10am...10mg Noon...2.5 2pm...5mg 4pm...2.5 Bed...5mg Could you tell me why when I take my 6am 10mg that I am still going down on the standing BP by 10am??? I know you said to only check BP once a day, but I am not taking extra because of it, just like to know when I start staying up which is usually in the afternoon. Should I ask for another blood test for thyroid & cortisol for about 6 weeks???? > Sounds liek somehow youi were able to utilize some T3. Guest guest
Cortisol tresting while on HC is VERY inaccurate. Whne you take the sample in the AM bveforee your HC dose it is guaranteed to be low. Thsiw si due to ACTH supression from taking HC. If you take blood sample after the HC dose it si bound to be high. As it peaks in the bood veyr quickly.. If you wait till the next dose is due, it is low. thsi is eveyrtime for eveyr person so really doesn;t tell you anyhting about YOUR addrenal status. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
