They are not circumcised like boys often are, but their body produces the same fluids and have lots of little folds for things to get trapped in. Do not over clean though. Do not forcibly retract the hood or foreskin. At birth the foreskin and hood are actually part of the clitoral and penile glans, not two sperate organs. Wash gently with plain water but do not use force. Teach your daughters to examine their vulva with a mirror as soon as they show any interest in their vulva, or start to wash themselves.
