Hi Melisa

First let me say that I had so much anxiety regarding the casting

process and in all honesty it was so much better than I imagined. It

was a bit worse then when they go in for vaccines. Dylan actually

screamed bloody murder, BUT he has a temper, so its normal for him

to react in such a way- also as soon as it was over my husband

picked him up and he instantly stopped crying and took a banana in

one of those fruit nets. Dylan was casted for a " helmut " and it took

like 2-3 minutes, his eyes were not covered and the process seemed

nothing like the photos of the band process, what really pissed him

off was when they slid this wet cold hood like thing over his head

for the plaster to mold to. The tech's were great and gave me a

lollipop to distract him but he didnt take it. I did start to tear a

little like I do when he gets his shots and he wails. My advice is

to bring something that soothes him like a bottle, paci, etc... so

after and/or during he can have it- the banana was an instant hit.

Goodluck and just know if he is getting a hemlmut like Dylan the

casting isnt terrible and its fast. I hope this helps to ease a

little anxiety

keep us posted on how things go

& Dylan
