I wouldn't be surprised. And you've just reminded me of the time I saw Justice Warren coming out a door as the Warren Commission con- cluded, saying " The true results of our Commision will not be made known in our lifetime. " The very next day, I read in the paper that he denied ever saying that!!! I felt like Winston in " 1984 " - Am I the only one who remembers the truth??? Also, it was good ol' Gerry Ford who gave us Dick Cheney, Rumsfeld, and furthered the career of H.W. Bush - so in a way, we have him to thank for the present MESS in Iraq. Guest guest
The only people we have to thank for the " MESS in Iraq " are those that would use violence and fear to hijack a nation against its will out of a misbegotten desire to turn the Middle East and the world into a medieval theocracy. Blame those that use car bombs and rocket attacks to terrorize and enforce the rule of a minority against the democratically elected government of Iraq for the troubles the Iraqi people find themselves in. Anything less, however fashionable, is foolish. Ari > > Also, it was good ol' Gerry Ford who gave us Dick Cheney, > Rumsfeld, and furthered the career of H.W. Um, yeah, those are the guys in the Bush administration, right? They used lies and fear about WMD to hijack our foreign policy to invade Iraq, which had NOTHING to do with 911. " W " wanted to punish Saddam for trying to assassinate his father a few years earlier. > Blame those that use car bombs and rocket attacks to terrorize > and enforce the rule of a minority against the democratically > elected government of Iraq for the troubles the Iraqi people find > themselves in. Anything less, however fashionable, is foolish. I do blame them too, and their collective name is " Wahhabi " . Look them up in Google. I'm all for going after them, from bin Laden on down. So why did we pass up the opportunity to catch him in Tora Bora, and subcontract that job to the local tribes instead, who were then bought off by Osama? Our going into Iraq has turned that country into a haven for terrorists, which it would NOT have been if Saddam was still in charge. 3,000 dead American soldiers. 655,000 dead Iraqis. All of them laid at W. Bush's feet. Anything else that happens in Iraq, is courtesy of the Bush administration. Clay PS. If you want to really know what's happening there, see: http://riverbendblog.blogspot.com/ It's a blog by someone who lives in Baghdad, and knows.
