Aurora, when you google for information on high-functioning autism or Asperger's, you will get a lot of conflicting information. There is a huge difference between the Autistic community (which is made up of Autistic individuals) and the autism community (which is mostly parents and caregivers of Autistic individuals). The autism community is mainly focused on behavioral/biomedical treatments for small children, and is not likely to provide as much support to an Autistic adult as the Autistic community does. (Sorry if that sounds confusing. What I'm trying to say is that you should seek out the company of other Autistic adults and try to avoid groups that offer parenting tips and/or unsolicited medical opinions.) Also, where are you located, please?
