Thanks Kathy

As far as men, it's very rare to get cancer of the Penis but it can happen. Generally it's we as women who have the only worry as we're the ones to get cancer of the cervix. *sigh* so of course we worry could we have the few types that 'are' precancerous. Generally a male don't have any worries other than passing it onto a female and can have a visible wart(s) (HPV) lasered off or scalpeled off, I'd still not use the acids though. And from what I've read it's the visible warts that are the least likely to be precancerous, but if it's in the sperm or saliva microscopically who knows or what type?

Apparently it doesn't affect the men even if they do have it microscopically at least I've not seen studies on it, but it does make one wonder eh? It's why I also think eventually it will be like measles or chicken pox where the majority of the population will end up having it as those too are virus's.. and some claim about 65-70% of the population now carries the HPV virus already.

I've mentioned this before, and still think it's a good idea, but we had a retired gynecologist on list for a short time a while ago who swore by using the Betadine (povidone iodine) for a douche to prevent HPV, and correct positive paps associated wth it. And I think if I did have unprotected sex with someone who was not my steady partner or perhaps someone new, that I'd use that after sex just sort of as an extra protection in case. (those little throw away Summers Eve bottles can be great for a quick rinse, not using their solution though) although come to think of it, they may have one with those ingredients, but better to buy our own solution and use a 1/2 capful or so with water. Also it's good for bacterial, fungal and viral and parsiticial infections. I'm NOT saying it would absolutely cure or stop HPV but still better than nothing eh?

As you said possibly and hopefully in 5 years time this won't be an issue as they truly are working diligently on 'typing' the strains. Many companies are hard at work currently and they say it won't be expensive. I hope it's so.

Hope you're doing well!

Warmest hugs

Dee~
