wacma: Results from Dr. Heffez (Long)

Hello to all,

First I would like to say , I am so thankful to have found such a Great , and

Wonderful, and Knowledgeable group.. Thankyou so much for being my friend

and helping me in answering my questions always. The info you have given me

, has not only help answer my fears , but you have also told me how to be

aggressive toward my dr.s and push to get answers.

Now the news,Dr. Heffez called me tonight , and told me what he saw on my

MRI's . First he said I do have a mild neck problem , and need to get some

therapy in posture training. 2nd was I do have mild Chiari 1

Malformation.

He also stated at this time from my notes and my films , that I probably

would not benefit from surgery since most of my symptoms are fm related ,

but if I was to get any worse or thought I needed to see him , not to

hesitate to call and schedule a appt. with him for a evaluation.

God is shining down on me this week for sure , I not only have a dx for

Chiari, but when I saw my PCP this past Monday , I went in with confidence

and knowledge on how to approach my needs ( Thanks to all of You) . I

demanded that he give me something stronger or different for my pain and

spasms .

First he took away the ultram( which did nothing ) and replaced me back

with my vicoden es, and replaced my skelaxin with baclofen. I still take

900 mg. of Neurontin daily and have Imitrex inhaler for my pressure

headaches.

In one day I could tell the difference with the baclofen( Muscle Relaxant for

spasms) . I can raise my arm without PAIN. It is still sore, but I can feel

my knots loosing more and more. AMAZING I almost couldnt believe it was

true.... I just wish I could get out of this fatigue phase... I jsut

started tanning hoping it will help with the winter blues .. I do it after

therapy , and let me tell you to have your bones and muscles warmed that way

is the best thing , and relaxing in the tanning bed is great.

I only hope someday I am as knowledgable as you all are . I have been in the

group since Dec. and I have found a family , that I know I will never loose.
