Guest guest
Hello! I'm new here so I thought it might be nice to introduce my self a little. I'm 24, marriend, no kids. I suffer from vulvar vestibulitis syndrome, which was diagnosed a month ago. First I thought it was vaginismus, so I've been member of the vaginismus group too. (I wasn't that wrong, since feeling pain in vestibular glands makes my PC muscles tense to protect me, which causes additional pain during intercourse.) But the reason is VVS and that's why I'm happy to join this group. I really really want to get rid of this condition. I have some questions in my mind. Last night we managed to have painless intercourse using EMLA (anesthetizing creme) to my vestibular glands. Has anyone used this? I was surprised it worked so well, it was incredible pleasurable and I felt no pain at all. But afterwards glands and other places around vulvar area became sore and stinging. So does intercource just make things worse? Should I try to heal the tissues firs? We've been waiting for this for so long and I feel temptated to ignore the effect on my condition to be able to just enjoy sex! But there are other ways to get satisfaction, so if this is a risk, I could try to wait... An other question is about Vagifem. I noticed in your old discussions, that some of you are using it. Another gyn gave me vagifem, but didn't diagnose VVS. So I went to see a really great specialist who made the right diagnosis. His opinion was that hormones are unlikely to help, but I could try it if I want to. Now I hesitate, but am likely to try it. Someone mentioned that only Estradiol 17b is same as the naturally produced one. Vagifem is Estradiol, but don't know what kind. Does anyone have information about this? It's good to be here! It would be encouraging to hear success stories too! I'm starting to believe that I'm actually able to beat this some day.. love, Päivi
