Guest guest
Hi Paivi Welcome to the list, nice to have you aboard. Yes, Vagifem is the female insert pill, and it is the regular Estradiol 17b... but it's a very low dose of Estradiol (25.8 mcg whereas I use a full 2mg (orally) and not micrograms) I think 'I'd' need eight of them *chuckle*... it might be great for those just trying to see if would work for them and may be fine with a lower dose and for those who are uncomfortable with the thought of adding hormones. By the way anytime you see the term Estradiol (E2) used in various medical articles they do mean the Estradiol 17b. Just be aware when they use the generic term ' Estrogen'. Hope it helps, it sure was what 'cured' me just using the cream topically as with Estrace, though some say 'remission', all I know is no more pain for the past two years after those ten years of hell when my blood levels were fine. Good luck. Warmest, Dee~ p.s. don't know about the Emla, never tried that. VAGIFEM DESCRIPTION: is the only vaginal tablet available containing estrogen derived from plants. (same as Estrace) The estrogen contained in VAGIFEM, 17beta-estradiol, is identical to the estrogen that is produced normally in your body before menopause. VAGIFEM is clinically proven to relieve the symptoms and discomfort of AV, including dryness, soreness and irritation. Plus, you can take comfort in knowing that the type of estrogen in VAGIFEM has been used by millions of women worldwide in a variety of healthcare products such as oral contraceptives and oral hormone replacement therapies (HRT). Atrophic vaginitis (AV) is a condition that frequently occurs in women as a result of estrogen deficiency following menopause. The symptoms of AV include vaginal dryness, itching and irritation that can also lead to painful intercourse. These symptoms can be effectively relieved by VAGIFEM, the world's first vaginal estrogen tablet containing 25.8 mcg of 17ß-estradiol hemihydrate equivalent to 25 mcg of 17ß-estradiol.
