Is it safe to take magnesium citrate at the same time I'm taking magnsium asporotate, or would that be too much magnesium?>> ** Is it safe to double your dose of anything? That depends on how much you're taking. --C
Guest guest
Hi ! Since my withdrawal from Lexapro I also feel restless and agitated when I wake up (usually around 4 a.m./5 a.m.). I also have akathisia. Since when did you experience these symptoms? Cheers Jeff > > I am currently taking 400mg magnesium asporotate daily. Guest guest
Hi Jeff, I've been on zyprexa more than once. The first time, I had akathisia from the drug itself and tapered really fast to get off of it, because it was just torture. I vomited so much from the withdrawal that I ended up in the ER, and they sent me to the psych ward, where I got put back on zyprexa. I have been trying to get off it ever since. Went cold turkey back in November-bad idea. Had to reinstate and have been tapering ever since. The restlessness and agitation in the morning has been fairly constant, and the akathesia has been intermittent. It's not as bad as it was--I can actually sit still and distract myself by getting on the computer or watching movies with my husband. I found that magnesium citrate helps somewhat. How long have you had your akathisia? How do you cope? Aren't these drugs the pits? > > > > I am currently taking 400mg magnesium asporotate daily. Guest guest
Hi , I get akathisia when I'm emotionally aroused. When I watch a thrilling movie (which I try to avoid anyway) I can be pretty sure that I'll wake up the next morning restless, agitated and nervous with muscle jerks and spasms. I actually went out and got myself some magnesium tablets (300 mg per dose) and that does seem to help somewhat. I never had any problems with akathisia before taking the psych meds. I only took the stuff for 10 days, but that was enough to get me started. I've been battling the symptoms for a year now. Things have improved slightly, but it is taking ages.......To be honest, I'm pretty frustrated with the whole thing. I would seriously wish that the people who developed the meds would be forced to go through the symptoms that we do.... Cheers Jeff > > > > > > I am currently taking 400mg magnesium asporotate daily. Guest guest
Hi , I am currently taking 750 mg of magnesium citrate. I had to increase to this dose very slowly becuase at first I had diarrhea. I find the magnesium really helps and I have had no signs of akathesia for a quite awhile. I hope this helps you. --- s w wrote: > I am currently taking 400mg magnesium asporotate > daily. My akathisia, which had seemed to be gone for > a while, is back now as I continue to reduce. Magnesium does thousands of things for you and everyone who has taken one of these drugs should be taking it. Magnesium deficiency is very common today. In fact, it is quite possible that people who experienced numerous adverse reactions to the drugs they took did so because of a magnesium deficiency. The enzymes that help to detoxify the drugs (P450 enzymes, as well as over 600 other enzymes) do not work properly unless adequate magnesium is inn the body. Take some time to learn more about magnesium here: http://www.mgwater.com/index.shtml If anyone has been here for more than a week and is not taking at the very least magnesium, calcium, fish oil, trace minerals, and Vit C, you need to think about how dedicated you are to withdrawal and recovery. Your body has been damaged. It repairs itself but only when you give it what it needs for fuel to repair itself. If you think you are getting all you need from food you need to go to the USDA Nutrient Database and look up everything you eat. I comfortably say that there is not one person on this list getting the minimum requirements from food to maintain health nevermind the amount of nutrients needed from food in order to heal. No one could eat that much. The Database is here: http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search/ Regards,
