Guest guest
It usually starts right at the beginning while the babies adjust. You may just be really lucky!! Sounds like you may have beat it. > OK, maybe my daughter is a freak of nature, but we haven't had ANY > smells coming from her band as of yet. Guest guest
Hi , Just to clarify, I was referring to the sweating. I don't know when the smells start (if they do without sweat..). My daughter didn't have a problem with the smell because she wore a prosthetic sock under the helmet that absorbed the sweat. All I had to do is change the sock daily. > > OK, maybe my daughter is a freak of nature, but we haven't had ANY > > smells coming from her band as of yet. Guest guest
You are very lucky! With Xavier's 1st band it started smealling after a week and it smelled the whole time. I used alcohol everyday and washed his hair with smelly shampoo and it would come back. Remeber we live in AZ and when he was banded was 7/25 - 9/25 w/ 115 degree weather there was no way out! LOL! Now with his 2nd band we have had it three weeks and harldy no smell. If I smell it its at the end of the day and I just clean them both up and smells gone! I really thing it was the heat! Guest guest
hey , I think it depends on the kiddo, Aidan's first band came in March and he never sweated and to be honest it never really got smelly but his 2nd band....whew...came in July and it was stinky after a week! Guest guest
, Consider yourself VERY lucky! I can't imagine her starting to stink now! Guest guest
, You are lucky..the weather here has been cool. If you are cleaning with the 91% alcohol, you may not get a smell and cooler weather definitely helps out. Happy rounding!! Guest guest
You know, I was just thinking that Gus' head didn't sweat that much at first and the band didn't stink too bad. But now, after 10 weeks, he is sweating like crazy in the band and it REALLY stinks when we take it off. I think it's b/c he is MUCH more mobile now--crawling and cruising and in constant motion. Anyway--I will be so glad when this is all over and I have a sweet smelling head to snuggle with! Hopefully you will be lucky and remain sweat and stink-free!
