Guest guest
I had a " menopause consultation " with the nurse practitioner today. I'm in the process of changing hormone supplementation regimes. She mentioned that there is a greater risk of clotting for diabetics taking sex hormones. Does anyone know if this risk is inversely related to one's blood glucose control, as so much other damage is? Is this the reason why impaired glucose tolerance (BG 150-200) increases heart disease risk? Or is it unrelated to BG levels and just something inherent in how diabetics' bodies react to the sex hormones? Or is this one of those things nobody has really looked into yet? (Considering the age of the boomer generation, SOMEBODY ought to figure this one out :@) Inquiring minds want to know! -- el - andrea@..., andrea_frankel@... - Nevada City, CA, USA " ...wake now! Guest guest
, this is why a lot of us take ace inhibitors or a therapeutic aspirin a day, as it helps thin the blood. I don't think it has anything to do with control, just the diabetes. Guest guest
HI, . Thanks for this info. I cannot take any form of aspirin, as I take meds for arthritis. The combo would/could result in abdominal bleeding. So, I will try adding some ginger to my daily diet. How do you use it? Guest guest
I use it like most herbs I take. I just buy bulk ground and take a partial ts. and wash it down with water. If you can't stand the taste you can put in capsules, but that is just extra effort.
