Guest guest
Hi all, Thought a post regarding good things would cheer the hearts of all struggling with decisions, surgery and good old Arnold. Roxanne, who will be three in a week, who wasn't really expected even to be still here, is in fact very much here and doing very well. I am not suggesting that we have a cure, we still have tough moments, she still has lots of symptoms but overall things are going pretty darn good. Good thing - Rox has got the toilet thing together, always was an unknown but again she proved us wrong. Good thing - she has been well enough to go to play group, she didn't vomit once and she loves it so much. Good thing -we haven't been to a doctor for nearly two months. Good thing - her shunt her shunt hasn't blocked for nearly six months. Her syrinx seems stable and Arnold seems to be also stable. We seem to have balanced all her bits and pieces and we are loving having her soooo well and happy. She has had a horrible time and deserves all the wellness she can have, and those odd moments of Arnold misbehaving are manageable. Take heart it took three decompressions, lots of shunt revisions, and many other bits and pieces over the last three years for us to just enjoy the simple things like toilet training, playing with other kids and especially no medical intervention. Small steps can mean the most, acknowledge every win however small and never say never! Have a great day Kym
