Guest guest
Anne, One thing Dr. Neville explained to me was that 's Disease usually comes on very differently than Adrenal Fatigue. With adrenal issues you usually have years of stress and a build up which results in going through some or all of the stages of adrenal fatigue culminating at stage 7. 's usually doesn't manifest itself like that. There is a good 's group on Yahoo that you can go to and read what people write when they are newly diagnosed. They are usually very ill, vomiting, loosing weight like crazy, etc. Sometimes it takes a long time for them to get a diagnosis but usually it is just a few months. With adrenal folks it is more like years. I have all of the same symptoms that you have except the hyperpigmentation as well. I have the horribly low blood pressure, headaches from hell, shakes, etc. I thought I had 's too but, thankfully, I have realized all I am experiencing is late stage adrenal fatigue. It has a lot of the same symptoms of 's Disease. I also have to take Florinef and live in the bathroom. Honestly, everythink I drink goes right through me within 30 minutes. I drink a lot because it keeps the headaches at bay. I go to the bathroom a lot. It sucks but that is my life. I am use to it. I have been doing this for about 5 years so may that be a lesson to any of you who are just starting to do this. Take heed. You need to heal and rest before you get to the place Anne and I are in. One important question...did you do your ASI saliva test through the doctor or Canary Club? The reason I ask is that the Canry Club test is a " short version " and the doctor's get the " expanded version " . Doesn't seem fair. In the " expanded version " you get an enzyme layout where it shows if there is any problems in the adrenal cascade. I did not get this with my Canary Club test and Dr. Neville is going to see if I can get a urine test that will show if I have an interuption in my adrenal cascade of all the enzymes and transformations of this into that. I hope that makes sense because it is the best I can do. All very complicated. I have high progesterone so he thinks that I am not producing or converting properly in that adrenal cascade. Your test may show that if you had the " expanded version " . There are several places where the cascade can get messed up and make healing harder. Try not to stress out about all of this as it makes you sicker. Worst case is that you do have 's but you will live. I don't think you do. I will be very curios to see if your headaches are due to diabetes. I doubt it. You are one of the few people I have met here (so to speak) that has the exact same thing going on as I do. I have horrible headache. Dr. Neville took me off of Biotin (high doses) in hopes to do this urine test. Biotin fixes one of the problems in the adrenal cascade. I have been off 6 days and my headaches are back as well as the heart palpitations. This tells me he is really on to something. I do think Val is right, you need more HC. Drink, drink, drink and take more HC. I take 30mg and some days I take 5mg more. You sound like you need more. Try not to be dehydrated even if it means running to the bathroom every 30 minutes. Know I am in there with you! You are not alone in your bathroom runs. Know you will be OK. Take tons of salt and rest. Don't stress so hard on this stuff, it is making you worse. Think about the licorice root powder because it has helped my blood pressure. One other thing, I take 1/2 tsp of sea salt right before I go to bed. I think it soaks up in my body better because I don't run to the bathroom for several hours after. a in North Idaho > > Natural Thyroid Hormone ADRENALSEveryone, > I'm sorry to bother you all again. Guest guest
Hi a, What problem in the adrenal cascade does Biotin fix? I started taking it for my hair which was starting to get thin due to hypothyroid. Also, I used to be Stage 7, and it took almost 2 years of TOTAL bedrest to get back to Stage 6 which I am in now. I know a lot of people can't always do total bedrest, but just in case anyone here can, for me it was really the way to go (and really I had no choice, I couldn't even brush my own hair at that point). But it does get better so don't give up! Life does return, it just takes time and patience. Try not to get depressed or negative also because this prolongs it, try to read or watch tv with positive happy things. Keep things like evening news far away if it causes any stress at all. Anyone in your life who is a stressor - they have to change or go away. Just have to do these things as much as possible, or getting back from Stage 7 is a prolonged more difficult thing to do. Thanks --- sophieboris wrote: Dr. Neville took me off of Biotin (high doses) in > hopes to do this urine test. Biotin fixes one of > the problems in the adrenal cascade. Guest guest
a, Thanks for your reply. It really is strangely comforting to know we're not the only ones, LOL! BTW, my aunt lives in Nez Perce, Idaho, and another aunt lives in Couer d'Alene (hope I spelled that right). I got my ASI test through Dr. Lowe. (Which, by the way, someone else asked if I liked her, and yes! She's been great. She's much more focused on thyroid, though, than adrenals, but over all she's been very helpful. To whoever asked, she charges $3/minute. My insurance didn't cover her, but she's been cheaper than other doctors because she listens so well so she saves me visits. http://www.drlowe.com ) That's interesting about the enzymes. I don't think my test showed anything like this. It did say that I'm not making enough salivary IgA, which Dr. Lowe said is digestive enzymes. I've added two enzymes to my diet... just yesterday they arrived, so I'm not sure if they're helping much yet (although I've had MUCH better days than the last time I wrote), but last week, I almost passed out after supper one night because I got nauseated. I have a book called Enzyme Nutrition by a Dr. Howell, and his research on enzymes and cortisol/blood sugar seemed to fit me, so that's when I ordered the enzymes. I ordered Daily Essential Enzymes and Pancreatin 8X Digestive Enzymes, by Source Naturals, from iherb.com. Out of curiosity, have you seen the chart on this website? http://www.cushings-help.com/911.htm Scroll down to the very bottom and double-click on the graphic of the chart. Here's a direct link: http://www.cushings-help.com/images/fundra2.jpg It's for those with 's Disease, but the flowchart shows four ways that someone could have an adrenal crisis resulting in coma or death. Basically, understanding the physiology involved has saved my life these last few weeks, I'm sure! Notice that it says that lack of enzymes is from too low of cortisol. That's the other reason I decided to order some. Funny you have high progesterone, a. I did, too! Wonder how that plays into it. Can I ask what brand of licorice root powder you use? How much and when do you take it? Sometimes it's nice to know. There are SO many options out there! I'm going to increase to 30 mg as you recommend. May I ask how you dose that out? I currently take 10 at 8 a.m., 5 at noon, 5 at 4 p.m. and 5 before bed. I'll also be sure to try the salt before bed. It's crazy how delicious sea salt tastes right now. My husband thinks I'm crazy for eating it out of my hand. :-) Thanks so much for the help! I so much appreciate it, ~Anne

That's an amazing chart. Thanks for the link! Decreased liver function - wonder if that's what is causing the gallbladder problems that so many have - mine has been flaring up too. And, I had one day when I had pain beneath my ribs on the right side - liver? Low blood pressure/shock - funny, because that's exactly how I described to my husband what I was feeling with the low BP - like I was going into shock. > > Funny you have high progesterone, a. So you could be making P & not converting, so it piles up a bit.

Guest guest
Anne, The high progesterone piles up due to that adrenal cascade issue I was talking about in earlier posts. The high doses of Biotin are suppose to fix this. You can find out if this is going on with an advanced saliva test or a urine test. It is the conversion problem that is talking about. All very complicated and good doctor (HA! good luck) or an ND can help figure it out. Hope that helps, a in North Idaho > > Funny you have high progesterone, a. I did, too!
