Guest guest
You said: Lexapro is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). It does not inhibit serotonin from reaching your receptors as the Klonopin does, it actually helps you get more serotonin to the receptors. If you do the opposite of what the benzo was doing, you're only going to " worsen your withdrawal " . Do you understand this explanation? You may also want to consider putting on some running shoes and getting away from this person who would see Lexapro as a replacement for a benzo. This is a classic example of how little most physicians, including psychiatrists, know about psychopharmacology. It's criminal. **My psychiatrist has me on Lexapro, Klonipin, and Geodon. I'm now at 2mg of Lexapro (orginally 20mg), 2mg Klonipin, and 56mg Geodon (originally 160mg). My withdrawal symptoms are bearable at this point. I feel alot of anxiety and weepiness, but I'm hanging in there. I'm doing the 10% decrease. Once I am off the Geodon completely I was planning on starting to decrease the Klonipin. I was thinking I would keep the Lexapro at 2mg while I began tapering off the Klonpin. However, from what you've said I'm guessing this is not a good idea and " would worsen my withdrawal " . So, should I come off the Lexapro completely before tapering the Klonipin, so as to avoid a more difficult withdrawal from the Klonipin?
