Ian:

I am happy I helped clear up some questions you had.

There is one specific helmet that a previous group member of ours

had, the Mayo Clinic Helmet, which was specifically designed to be

used only monthly (on average I think) and then each month a new

helmet was casted for & made. I think this member used 5 helmets for

her son, but that was known going into it, and this is uncommon.

Her son had wonderful correction from his helmets.

You are very correct on the ill fitting band comment. My daughter,

like Dusties, had an ill fitting band that she wore for about 3 mos,

I SOOO wish I was more educated at the time she wore it (3 yrs ago

already) and had demanded a new band be made immediately vs wasting

so much valuable correction time :( But that's hindsight.

I would disagree that it's a fairly simpled technique as you feel.

I guess I've been around this group for so long now, that after

hearing about bad fitting helmets and/or bands, that is evidence

enough to say it's not easy. As I said before, it takes a lot more

than simply casting a child's head, making or ordering the product &

the plopping it on top of the baby's head.

I am very happy to hear how well Adam has already progressed in his

helmet!!! Keep us posted.
