Guest guest
Can I just scream and vent here for a minute? I have been killing myself researching everything I can about Connor and his "head problems" and I can't even get my hsuband to make a quick phone call to the insurance company to check on coverage. I just called him and he says... get the letter from the doctor and we submit it to them and we wait for approval and THEN get the band. Connor is 7 1/2 months old now... umm hello-- time is of the essence... does he not listen to ANYTHING I say? I would bet big money he has no idea what the condition is called never MIND the name of the treatment. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Sorry I just had to complain somewhere! I'm sure I'm not alone! Guest guest
Ali, I made all the appointments, phone calls, took her to every appointment etc. I wrote the appeal with no help. He was all for the band but not much help with the leg or paper work. He did clean her band and was great at taking it off and on. Angie and Jenna UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
"ugh" is right! We ended up calling our insurance company (Aetna) everyday for about a week calling both member services and the pre-approval line. The pre-approval line did nothing to expidite the process. We finally got someone nice in member services and explained that we had an appointment coming up in 2 days and we didn't want to delay it any further because of his age and the necessity to begin treatment as soon as possible. We then faxed them all the supporting documentation that was needed to meet their criteria for coverage (RX, Letter of medical necessity, measurements from CT documenting the degree of assymetry, etc.). The got us pre-approved in just a day once I got the right person. (Of course we had to wait 2.5 months before they decided to actually pay it!) Good luck and keep bugging the insurance company...call as many different number as you can find until you find someone who will help you. The fight with the insurance company was the worst part. We finally made our decision to go ahead and band and then here they were delaying everything!!! /DOC/10-7-03 @10mos./PA The iAli <briggs@...> wrote: Can I just scream and vent here for a minute?
