insurance company never received claim??

Good morning all-

It's FINALLY warming up here in MN... we're only 2 below right now!!

No kidding, it feels like a heat wave! HA!

Two weeks ago I checked on my insurance companies website to see if

they had received the claim for Jaxson's helmet. They did, it showed

it was pending. Yesterday I figured I would check to see what was

going on with it, looked, and it showed no claims for that day at

all. I KNOW im not crazy, I saw it there just two weeks ago, wrote

down the cost of the helmet even. SO, I called the insurance company

(UHC) and they said they never received it!!! WHAT? How can that

happen? If it shows up doesn't that mean you have it? Hmmm. Very

frustrating!

Hi Kim! Sorry you are having to go through the extreme frustration of

UHC! When I read the subject of your post I just knew it would be

UHC!!!!

Here's my advice for you - keep a copy/printout/notes with name,

title, date & time of any contact you have with UHC. They are

notorious for *losing* their paperwork. My twins wore DOC bands from

March - Dec 03 and I swear, UHC *lost* every bit of paperwork we

and/or the dr offices, & CT sent them. I sent our appeal packet to

them twice - certified, return receipt requested - and they STILL

claimed they never received it - for the longest time! Finally, I got

in contact with a lady at my DH's human resources department who gave

me their dirrect contact at UHC. I feel like that is how we FINALLY

got our appeal seen and the claims paid.

Stay on them and DON'T GIVE UP - make them pay!! They will try

everything in their power to make you give up the fight! They finally

just paid our claim in Dec!

That kind of happened with us. It showed " in processing " on line and

then disappeared. They had sent it back to Cranial Tech asking for

additional information. Call back and ask for a supervisor. Your

claim is there somewhere.

Kim,

How frustrating! I can't tell you how many times this happened to

us. We had a dozen fax confirmations, yet BCBS still said they

hadn't received it! I hope it isn't this bad for you. My

suggestion would be to start getting annoying and making daily phone

calls and asking for supervisors and writing down names (and

printing out website pages!). You've got to do what you've gotta do!
