Guest guest
Hi everyone, I hope that you are doing well. I just sent a note to let you all know how I'm doing in regards to why my biopsy had to be rescheduled. But now I've got a question out of curiosity. I've got to be evaluated by Pain Management at my ob's insistence to see whether I need to continue with the Pain Meds. Well, the situation is that the endometriosis seems to be flaring up which is the reason that I need the Pain meds, but not for the vulvodynia like I have in the past b/c I'm able to manage that without many problems. I know that with the nerve pain that I can take care of it with the sitz baths and the lidocaine ointment and of course sometimes the Ponstel. So, now, here's my question. Has anyone had success with Pain Management treating their vulvodynia? I thought I would go ahead and ask this in case there ever came a day that I needed to consider Pain Management specialists just for that. I've done Pain Management in the past but it was for a breast problem that I had and the meds that I was on (and that included Neurontin) weren't capable of working by themselves. It had to be in combination with the other. The reason that I stopped seeing Pain Management before is b/c of the fact that the problem with my breast that sent me to them in the first place went away when I changed my birth control pill. Since being on the pill I'm on now I'm doing fine in that when the pain comes on (which is rare now) I can tolerate it. Thank you all for your help and I will let everyone know what the opinions about my dr's recommendation for Pain Management says. I know that I must do this b/c I know that Pain Management doesn't take women with endo (especially) and vulvodynia (at least from what I've been able to tell from some further research) seriously. Please forgive the length of this message and I will talk to you later. ===== Kristy http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/Falls/4659/kristyspage.html __________________________________________________ Get personalized email addresses from Yahoo!
