Guest guest
The ortho i'm seeing today will be giving me the names of some that he's worked with. I was wondering if anyone has ever used an orthopedic surgeon instead of the typical neurosurgeon or craniofacial plastic surgeon (BTW, my other plastic surgeon is not, to my knowledge, a craniofacial specialist...in fact, his ad in the yellow pages doesn't even mention anything other than tummys, noses, etc! and one entire wall of his exam is a gigantic mirror, I guess to convince you that you need some plastic surgery! ha! ). Anyway, I'm going about this a bit backwards (going to the ortho first, then figuring out which specialist to go to). My ped. had originally referred me to my plastic surgeon, but if you read all my past posts, you'll figure out how I feel about all that. I love my ped. by the way, but it seems like some don't know much about plagio yet. OK. Let me tell you all again how appreciative I am of your comments and encouragement!!!!!!! in KY momma to local helmet drop out, Philip
Guest guest
I didn't use an orthopedic surgeon. It is definitely worth checking. I am sure the ortho will have some good recommendations. Jenna saw a plastic surgeon but he was a pediatric craniofacial and cleft palate specialist. I hope and pray everything goes smoothly. You and Philip deserve it. Please let us know how it goes. Angie and Jenna(STAR grad) anyone ever used an orthopedic surgeon as your specialist? Guest guest
~ I sure hope everything goes ok for you today! With my son Jaxson we were first referred to the orthopedic surgeon - he has been seeing Jaxson since September. He did refer us to a cranial facial surgeon for the helmet, he received it, is wearing it, and now we are seeing the orthopedic still. He would've continued to see him throughout the entire time Jax has the CranioCap however, the doc leaves for Iraq next week. So, now we have to see the cranial facial again. I absolutely LOVE the orthopedic doc though - he talks to me, explains everything, takes his TIME, which is so important to me because I ask 10,000 questions each visit. The cranial facial was in and out in less than 10 minutes - I left having only one question answered, the need for helmet. Just wanted to put in my very little experience and hope that it goes good for you both today!
