Guest guest
Girl, I have gotten the same thing, only it's been after 6 weeks of a helmet that's not done a thing and $1100. I feel your pain!!!!! Be persistent and gracious. I feel like I'm jumping through hoops trying to get care for my little " flat head " . Where are you located anyway? Have you searched the archives for someone else in your area? in KY > BLEEPING TIME -- HEADS ARE GOING TO ROLL!!!! > > Its not " that " bad, I have seen worse.. well no crap, there are different degrees of everything... if my arm was a " little bit " broken wouldn't they freaking treat that for me? > > > UGH, sorry I had to vent! > > Ali
Guest guest
Ali, I understand where you're coming from. I must have heard that same thing from 10 different people before I banded Jordyn...and she was moderate brachy. But now that they see her with a round head, everyone is saying how amazing the bands really are and how well they work. Sadly enough, most of the " it's not that bad " comments came from my own family. Hang in there. & Jordyn (DOCband 1013 - graduating TODAY!!!) Guest guest
It just makes you want to scream, doesn't it?! I agree with -- most of the comments I have gotten have been from my sister-in-law (who drives me nuts anyway), and unfortunately from the nurses in my son's pediatrician's office! My sister in law was saying that her head is flat also (my baby is brachy), but she was feeling the back of her head when she had her chin to her chest! DUH! I just wanted to hit her!! I kept my mouth shut, but my husband made her look stupid. (Thank you dh!) My brother in law asked me, " Do you think that it would have stayed flat if you didn't get the helmet? " I wanted to say " No, it would have rounded out, but we were looking for some way to spend $3000, and this seemed like a great way to do it! Guest guest
I'm in Nova Scotia.. there has only BEEN banding here for a VERY short time, as a matter of fact.. a patient of my PT was forced to travel to CT for her sons banding.. 12,000 dollars later she has about 40% correction because he was nearly a year before she got it done, took them 8 months just to send her for the tort! That is another fear of mine, that I will convince her and they will tell me there is a 6 month waiting list.. I think I would lose it. God, I wish someone could go with me, I am so apprehensive about tomorrow-- i can't eat or sleep.. I'm living and breathing this right now... and I just know I'm going to be gutless when I get there.. Guest guest
I know how you feel. It's very frustrating. Try to ignore it because you know what is best for you baby. Even if there is " worse " out there, why should you be happy with " not so bad " ... You have every right to want better for your little guy. /Makenna LLUMC helmet. You know maybe some people (not the doctors) are just trying to reassure you that your baby will be ok, but they don't realize that it is insulting to you. Just tell them you want to fix what you can. That's all. I think those people would understand. I ran into a couple of those types. They say that because they don't want to " agree " with you and possible hurt your feelings. > BLEEPING TIME -- HEADS ARE GOING TO ROLL!!!! > > Its not " that " bad, I have seen worse.. well no crap, there are different degrees of everything... if my arm was a " little bit " broken wouldn't they freaking treat that for me? > > > UGH, sorry I had to vent! > > Ali
