Guest guest
Hi Lona, I would have to agree with you that you think that your pain is coming from the Urethra, I also believe that that is where my pain is coming from and I felt excrutiating pain when my urologist inserted the catheter. I did get my urethra dilated, but It did not help. My VV specialist told me that Elavil will help desensitize the nerve endings and to put Estrace cram around the opening of my urethra and Vaginal opening. I did an experiment with myself where I put a mirror close to my private area and took a q-tip and pressed all around the opening. The spot where I feel the most irritation is the tissue around my urethra. I tried the months of antibiotics, yeast-free, sugar free diet, diflucan, sporanox, and now I am on 50mg of elavil and I have felt better on this. The week before my period I feel the most irritation. I can't wear tampons anymore, but when I have a heavy flow I feel pretty good. I think that I need to toughen up the tissue, but sometimes Estrace makes me irritated. ughh... I just hope that this will eventually go away. Oh, taking calcium citrate has really helped the stinging upon urination. I take 500mg three times a day and it helps with oxilate levels. Do you sometimes not have a pain or an itch, but a wierd feeling that is hard to describe? If I press up on that area I feel pressure. Ice cubes have also helped with the inflammation. thanks. a

Guest guest
I too had pain that migrated over to the urethral area. I thought it was the urethra itself, my regular gyn dignosed me with urethritis, but the specialist who checked me out says it is actually coming from the skenes (urethral) glands that are on both sides and just below the urethral opening. And those symtoms for me went away as soon as I identified my food allergies and started avoiding the food. in SF > > > Hi Lona, > I would have to agree with you that you think that your pain is coming from the > Urethra, I also believe that that is where my pain is coming from and I felt > excrutiating pain when my urologist inserted the catheter.
