Guest guest Posted February 18, 2000 Report Share Posted February 18, 2000 GOOD NEWS: Our PCP ordered a stat blood culture -- they actually spin down the blood (causing it to break down quickly than the traditional culture) and stain it and than give a reading almost immediately. They do complete the actually culture as well -- but you have to wait for three days. Anyhow, the immediate reading told us that there was nothing in the blood from the port -- MEANING NO INFECTION. The infection control doctor states that somehow in the lab, the culture had been contaminated. So, skins by on this one. Thank God for his miracles. I want to thank everyone for their quick prayers and thoughts -- it just goes to show that miracles can happen.
