Guest guest
I have never tried acupuncture for this, (just to induce labor), but if anyone is in the New York/New Jersey area, I know a GREAT acupunturist, Stueber, I can get exact location/phone # for anyone who needs it. He is my brother in law and is just great. I haven't discussed this with him, it might be interesting... Tia in Sunny SW Florida
Guest guest
You asked: Has anyone tried acupuncture for a > stiff neck? Does it help? Thanks. > Champ > I tried acupuncture and acupressure (had little suction cups placed all around the back of my neck and shoulders). It made my pain and stiffness in the neck WORSE. It took 2 weeks to get back to my normal amount of pain. Pamela in Madison
Guest guest
I'm behind in reading the group's post, but had to add to someone's post about acupuncture. I went to see several acupuncturists when Western dr's said my symptoms were imagined or normal (they're not). I found them in the phone book, referrals through Asian grocers, or health food stores, or Acufind.com. I've been seeing 1 since June, and she is my 7th, and I'm happy. I have to see her weekly, and feel better (herbs, "cupping" (heated cups on my back -- painless, but they clear my head instantly), acupuncture). She gave me a 15% discount to encourage me to keep coming, saying I'd need it (she wasn't kidding!). She has an OMD (dr. of Chinese medicine) and an MD, both from China). Overall, acupuncture/herbs help, but the treatment seems indefinite and long term. Insurance usu. doesnt' cover it. This woman is 90 mins from me, but available for consulation by phone and Internet. The others I've seen just never got rid of my foggy head, and seemed to say I needed to keep coming back and that I'd improve. I never did, and got tired of the high prices or high-priced supplements that did nothing. One said I had candida (I don't), or didn't provide a strong enough herbal mixture that I could buy at a health food store at a fraction of the cost. Some acupuncturists want you to "run over" on your lunch hour, and come across as quacks out for a quick buck. That's w hy I always went for the ones with the most education, and made sure they were Asian. One Asian guy was quite nasty and unprofessional, so be warned and try to get a referral if you can. I'm not cured. This is a Band-Aid and temporary. No idea what will cure me, and will eventually consult with . I just started a new job, and this works for now.
