Guest guest
Has anyone did a study of his liver? I know sometimes that can cause a buildup of fluid in the abdomen. > > Hello everyone, > > I have resisted bringing up this symptom my husband is suffering from > as it is a bit personal, however, he is quite miserable and I don't > know where else to turn. Guest guest
Have you looked into a possible food allergy? My daughter had a food allergy to corn which resulted in extreme bloating and discomfort. Since corn in it's many forms are in nearly everything it took a long time before we could fully eliminate it from her diet. To diagnose the problem, it was necessary to send a stool sample to a specialized lab which deals with allergies. > > > > Hello everyone, > > > > I have resisted bringing up this symptom my husband is suffering from > > as it is a bit personal, however, he is quite miserable and I don't > > know where else to turn. Guest guest
Thank you everyone for the great ideas. We are still trying to see if we can figure this out. He normally wears a size 34 jeans. He can not button a size 38, and, that was the last size he tried (last night). I am thinking of making him some elastic waistband denim, however, he says those would probably not be comfortable for him. He is terribly tender. His dog can't figure out why she can't sit on his lap. For those that wonder... suspenders with sweatshirts over the top. Kind of like being pregnant. I know his GP has had blood work done. I am sure that they were full panels, however to be sure, I can check to see if it included liver work ups. Please keep the ideas coming. I am making a list of all these to take to the neurologist and the GP. We are going to push for more intensive medical help. I am thinking it is time for a referral to one of the big city hospitals/doctors. His neurologist thinks it is due to lack of peristalsis in the digestive system. She seems to be avoiding the medications for this. I will question her. We have a referral for a nutritionist's evaluation. Insurance won't cover that expense. The allergist idea might be more productive. We are trying a gluten free diet at this time. It has been about 2 months now, and I think he is somewhat better. He doesn't, but he is being more active. Activity does increase the pain. I cook from scratch most of the time, and, there is very little corn in our diet. Rice & potatoes have become our mainstay. One of the recommendations for gastroparisis is for a pureed diet. Thank you everyone for your ideas. I hope we can find something that helps. Guest guest
I've never heard of treating gastroparesis with a pureed diet. I think that condition usually results in a prescription for domperidone, which is a prescription medication you can get from Canada. > > ...One of the recommendations for gastroparisis is for a pureed diet. > > Thank you everyone for your ideas. Guest guest
Hi, I am sure the doctor's have tested these things, but could any of these be possible? http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/gas-and-gas-pains/DG00014  ________________________________ To: LBDcaregivers Sent: Wed, March 23, 2011 12:55:05 PM Subject: Re: Re: Intestinal pain  Thank you everyone for the great ideas.
