Kimberlee Kimberlee, My heart goes out to you. I was in a simular situation not so very long ago. I admire your courage for doing what you have to in order to take care of your kids. I did what I had to so I know how hard this is. You will get through it and do it well because thats what Mom's do. Let me make some suggestions that you can perhaps try to relieve some of your pain. For me BC pills stopped my cyclic vulva pain but for some people it makes things worse. See what happens when you go off them for a while. You can always start them again if your worse without them. As far as being red and raw/raw feeling try calendula cream. I used a type from Whole Foods Market with almond, advacado and one other oil. It was like a miracle for me when it came to healing that rawness. Search around in your area and find something with as few ingredients as possable and no less than 7% calundula. If you can, use tampons to keep the discharge off your tissues.I know it's bad to always have a tampon in but whats good about being burned from your discharge??? Take the thing out when your at home and can douche when you need to. If you can, douche several times a day to rinse the area. See if it helps. Plain water works best. Just a short rinse, nothing extended. I know some doctors say douching messes up the ph and makes things worse but I'm living proff that some women have to douche often. I'm improved now but if I don't douche twice a day, more if my discharge is bad, I will be irritated. I did the low oxilate treatment and improved from being totaly in bed to 65-75% better. I went on guai in April of last year and am making excelent improvement. It's something you are thinking of trying and should consider further. Ora had an extreme reaction. (I'm so sorry you suffered so much Ora) The vast amount of people do far better than her but like everything else some people will not be able to use it. I can send you some links to look over here on the computer if you like. I know your having all kinds of thoughts and feel desperate but hang in there! Things are bad now but there is an other side to this mess and you'll get to it. I did and so can you. I also know you'll get many other suggestions from others on this list. There are many wise ladies on this list. Please let me know how you are. Blessings, Shirley.
Guest guest
, I too thought the pain and discharge would never end and one more day of pain and mucus and burning and red irritated skin would prove to be too much for me to handle. But it did get better...I can tell you I was so scared...scared that I had something terrible that would destroy my insides, keep me out of relationships forever, and destroy any future I might have and not be around to see my daughter grow up. I did get somewhat better on two back to back rounds of doxicycline. It helped with the inflammation. I was sure to take acidophilus with the antibiotics so I did not get yeasty vaginally or in the digestive tract. What really helped me was when I quit being so scared of this vulvadynia. I had a wonderful girlfriend to talk to who listened to me day or night and understood when I would just break down and cry...which seemed to be a continual thing. Getting help from the PT also lessened my fears. I had every test in the book and all that came back was a certain elevated white blood cell count which indicated that there was alot of inflammation going on in my body. I believe my constant state of anxiety kept revving up my system to keep it all inflammed. I also remember that my discharge improved when I quite douching with everything the doctors kept telling to use....let's see...there was a colloidal silver douche, a yogurt douche, a hydrogen peroxide douche, a baking soda douche, I douched all my normal flora down the tube...a vaginal culture revealed that my lactobacillus count was too low to be recognized...I beleive I irritated myself more by trying to " kill off " something that was not there. , find pleasure in one thing tonight...I know it is difficult to do that when the pain consumes your every thought. Do something that brings a smile to your face, even if it only lasts for one second. Hug your kids, they need you and they love you. Here, this might make you laugh...When I got vulvadynia, it was worse on my left side than my right side. When I urinated, the stream of urine no longer exited my body in a straight stream. It always sprayed out to the left and I got bathed in a stream of pee...disgusting huh? As if things weren't bad enough! However, now that I look back on this, it was another indication that my muscles were pulled too tight on the left and that made the urine go cock-eyed. Now that the muscles have relaxed, I can now pee in a straight line again!!!! This makes me appreciate the simple things of life, i.e. peeing normally! Breathe deeply, and let the fears go. Guest guest
{{{nne}}} It could be. Or it could be a number of things. MS affects everybody differently. If Chuck has become depressed, this could be one cause for the loss of weight. Has he cut down on his eating? Does the MS affect his arms or hands? I know that I often lose weight when I have lost coordination or my hands become numb. If he is losing weight rapidly, and seems to be turned off by food...it wouldn't hurt to look into it. Guest guest
{{{nne}}} Well... All that worrying and lack of funds could make anyone depressed. In my case though, it usually has the opposite effect. I actually put on more weight. Mostly because it seems that the affordable foods seem to be loaded with starch and sugar! Smells like a conspiracy to me.. I would definitely take him to a family doctor if it appears that he's losing way too much weight for his height and bone structure. Also, I'd have his thyroid checked as well. A complete physical usually includes that. Listen to me....I'm the one who's scared to death of doctors--giving you advise. If I started practicing what I preach, maybe my health would be better also. It all goes back to, lack of funds. In my case $0.00 dollars. I'm very fortunate to have a fiance who has been supporting me to the best of his ability these past six years. Guest guest
Lynn, I agree with everyone else that tells you to call the doctor... It may be nothing, but I think it's better to err on the side of precaution. Guest guest
Hi Lynn that does not sound normal I would probably contact my doctor to find out more. Let us know if it happens again. Bill Question Can anyone relate? Or do you have any ideas what caused this. Or advice Early Thursday morning say about two a m I was trying to go to sleep and was relaxing. Then I heard what sounded like two gun shots one right after the other. My head jerked so bad that I even checked if I was bleeding -- I was not but about two inches behind my right ear was sore and slightly swollen. Tippy Tue did not move so I know the "shots" were not real. About a half hour later my head jerked again, but not as bad, there was no sound this time just a place that hurt. It was about three inches above the first one. These spots are still sore and I have a head ache on the right side. Also when I was waking up Thursday morning about nine I was numb all over. I mean number than "normal" May you always find HAPPINESS and BUTTERFLIES Lynn
Guest guest
Hi Corinne All the casein is taken out of the " Classic " only. My son is very allergic to dairy and has seizures from it. He safely takes 9 of the classics a day. I sell it now so I can get it cheaper. There is more info on my website. It was one of the first things that made me go wow when I gave it to my son. www.buttercuppuppies.com I am a holistic dog breeder and sell it to my customers for their pets too! jo > Hi, does anyone know if transfer factor from 4 life, has casein in it. Guest guest
This is how it's been with my mom also, until fairly recently. It made no sense to me what she remembered and what she didn't but I found her memory fairly remarkable at times. Of course as the disease has progressed this has changed, but what you are describing is what we experienced with my mom as well. His, Sherry daughter/guardian of , dx 4/08 with LBD, living in a nearby NH > Just an update and a question. > > My sister has somewhat leveled out, not a lot of ups and downs. I've even begin to wonder if she has been diagnosed, or maybe it is just the meds working. She is eating better and I think that has helped her overall condition. She still has the tremors and rigidity that goes along with Parkinsons, needs help walking and she still goes " on trips " as I call them. She insist that there is a man that comes in her room and does surgery on her without her permission. We've told her they have taken him to jail, but she said he has gotten out. I wonder if she may be dreaming this. However, her memory is fairly good for the most part. My brother-in-law has been seriously ill and she asks about him. If I go a couple of days and haven't seen her, she will say I've not been there in two weeks. Some of the sitters she will call by different names, but she still knows all the family members. She frequently calls out to members of the family who are not there. > > Has anyone else had a relative that has been diagnosed with LBD, but their memory is still fairly good? Guest guest
Hi , I absolutely have a relative with LBD but his memory is still quite intact at times; my father. Part of this disease it that it is fairly common to have moments of great lucidity followed by moments of absolute confusion, or hallucinations, etc. My Dad has improved dramatically on his medications, especially after an addition in January of Namenda. He is more lucid at most times than he was a year ago by far. The good news is, your sister's meds are working. The harder news is that you get a lot of confusion and mixed messages regarding how she is cognitively. I'm quite confident it is still LBD, just correctly diagnosed and treated...and you are experiencing better times than you can expect down the road, and better times than you experienced before. You're right, it can be a very confusing disease! Lori Question Just an update and a question. She frequently calls out to members of the family who are not there. Has anyone else had a relative that has been diagnosed with LBD, but their memory is still fairly good? Is this something that goes as the disease progresses? This is such a confusing disease!!! Thanks
