Guest guest
Thanks for the response, MO. Yes, I think I'm going to go see the doc one more time to get his response to my results (especially since nobody else seems interested so far, yourself excluded). I have a zillion questions. Too bad he charges $100 per visit and of course I have no insurance. But in this case, I'm so happy to finally be close to solving my health riddle, that it seems like " money well-spent. " Thanks again, -m > > > > In a message dated 23/09/2006 02:28:45 GMT Daylight Time, yoonit@... > writes: > > the question is: should I do this myself > > > Hii ex-lurker, lol > I have been self-treating for 18 months and I would say to you that if there > is a good doc available to you then seixe the opportunity with both hands. > It can be a lonely road, self-treating, though there is great support and > advice to be had here and on other lists. Can you repost your labs, and i will try to help. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV My Ebay Jewelry Store http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Your labs are quite conclusive...stage 4...and there isn't a whole lot more to say about that. And since you've been feeling this way for many years, it is pretty evident that the situation is not going to self-correct. It is sad to me that this condition ( " functional " hypo adrenia) is not recognized by conventional medicine...so even if you *did* have insurance, you would probably find it caused more stress than it alleviated trying to convince them to pay for even a penny of your treatment. I have outstanding insurance, and every penny has had to come from my own pocket...with exception of the co-pays to conventional docs that didn't help me anyway. And, since hydrocortisone is so inexpensive, it is actually less than my Rx co-pay, so I end up paying the full amount from my pocket. The good news is that the meds/supplements are relatively inexpensive. If your doc proves to be unhelpful, and you tire of spending $100 per visit, there are some good alternatives with those who do telephone consults. Mine charges $2/min which sounds like a lot, but not when you consider that you get 50 minutes of his undivided attention for that $100...I've yet to find anybody who will give me that kind of time in an office visit for the same money. Best wishes. You're among friends here, and we'll help wherever we can. --Steve > > > > In a message dated 23/09/2006 02:28:45 GMT Daylight Time, yoonit@... > writes: > > the question is: should I do this myself > > > Hii ex-lurker, lol > I have been self-treating for 18 months and I would say to you that if there > is a good doc available to you then seixe the opportunity with both hands. > It can be a lonely road, self-treating, though there is great support and > advice to be had here and on other lists. Guest guest
Hi Steve: I agree with your comments on insurance. The saying " you get what you pay for " seems to apply nicely here. I'm a real do-it-yourselfer, but in this case, I think the doc's expertise in interpreting the results will be invaluable. I've also considered a conference call with the Clymer people, and may still do it. I think I'll buy his books too. I have a lot of questions. The first is about my (very) low SIgA level, as it sounds like this could be tied into my allergies (my main complaint). It would be fun to compare symptoms with others with low SIgA... Thanks again, -m > > > > > > > > In a message dated 23/09/2006 02:28:45 GMT Daylight Time, > yoonit@ > > writes: > > > > the question is: should I do this myself > > > > > > Hii ex-lurker, lol > > I have been self-treating for 18 months and I would say to you > that if there > > is a good doc available to you then seixe the opportunity with > both hands. > > It can be a lonely road, self-treating, though there is great > support and > > advice to be had here and on other lists. Guest guest
Cortisol am 13 (13-24) aft' 3 (5-10) pm 4 (3-8) night 1 (1-4) total burden: 21 (23-42) DHEA 3 (3-10) (Maladapted, Phase II) Well as these re the only ones of your labs I am familiar with I will just comment on them. You are are the same maladaptation stage i am, and I don't feel really bad, just not a much energy as i would like to have. You also do not have the high cortiosl in the AM that I have.. I am bettign you would do well on HC and thta you most likely need it. Once the DHEA starts dropping your adrenals are struggling very hard. I do not think herbals will be of much help at this stage but I only tried them once and had such a bad reaction I will NOT do it again, so you can take what oyu want from that, i know others feel they are worth trying. I follor Dr Peatfield's protocol for treating adrenal fatigue whihc is workin your way up to 20MG of HC a day and then hold thta while you try to raise Armoru to a good dose for you. Are you on Armour? Do you have thyroid labs? I do know getting thyroid optimal helps level out alot of hormones, like SIgA and the sex hormones. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV My Ebay Jewelry Store http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

I tried licorice a few months ago (before I had the saliva test) and it puffed me up really fast (water retention) and I gained about 6 lbs. in a week. My blood pressure also went way up. It's usually around 112/68 but it went to 135/75(?). So I dont think it's the answer for me. I also tried some good ashwagandha, but didn't feel any better on it. I might still try some ginseng, but am willing to try some Cortef. I have been playing around with Isocort, but don't think it's doing all that much. I have some Cortef (finally made it thru customs) and I also have some Thyroid-S, which I havn't tried yet either. Shouldn't I wait on that until I give the adrenals a good shot (Cortef)? I've also tried supplementing DHEA in the past with no feeling of benefit.. free t4 .91 (.80 - 2.2) free t3 3.6 (2.8 - 5.3) TSH 1.14 Thanks again! -m
Guest guest
>>free t4 .91 (.80 - 2.2) free t3 3.6 (2.8 - 5.3)<< These look pretty low, but I would try the Cortef to at least 15MG before trying to add in the Thyroid-S. Get your adrenals built up a bit then add in the thyroid so it doesn't shock your adrenals into non existence! -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV My Ebay Jewelry Store http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
