Which do I > really, really want? HEHEHEHE Grace, it probably just depends on what your doctor is most familiar with using. Different meds work different ways for different people. Your doc will probably start with the med he's had the most success with, which may or may not be the right one for you. Different meds have different side effects; if the side effects of one are not tolerable, switch. If the med you get doesn't seem to do much for you after a few weeks, increase the dose, switch, or add a second. I have a friend with severe PPD - to the point that she was hospitalized for it, as in on the psych ward - and she takes extremely low doses of 2 different meds. For whatever reason that combo does it for her, when the maximum dose of either med didn't do a thing. It's really a trial and error process, BUT it's definitely worth it. And in most cases, the first med you take will at least do SOMETHING, even if it needs to be tweaked as time goes on. It does take some time to build up in your system to full effectiveness.
