from the hospital? No one will take him because of the risk factors of falling,

needing sitter 24/7, and using restraints to keep him in bed. His last fall

resulted in broken ribs, punctured lungs, etc. was in ICU, then reg hosp room.

Now the ho...sp is anxious for him to be released. Case mgr assigned to help my

mom showed no results due to the above. So many hosp staff are uneducated abt

LBD. It all feels so helpless. "

Usually the county has a psychiatric facility that is the nursing home of last

resort for these sorts of patients.

But before that drastic step is taken... Does the hospital have a psychiatric

wing? If not, can the patient be transferred to a hospital that does have a

psychiatric wing?

I'd suggest speaking with the patient advocate at the hospital immediately.

Do we know what meds he is on so he doesn't have to go through this? I keep

thinking something can be done to help him all around.
