Guest guest
There's no Dr. covering for your mom's Dr? did Exelon Patch not work for her? My mother couldn't handle Aricept (not 23, regular) but did well w/ Exelon. Could you get the Dr. who is covering for the one out of country to just give a temporary prescription for Exelon while you wait for the other Dr.? - > > I have a long story to tell but it will have to keep for the time > being...my question is this: has anyone's loved one tired this and if so how have > the results been? > > Mother WAS on the EXCHELON PATCH. Guest guest
I asked Petes' neurolist about the new Aricep pill and he said that everyone he started on it did not do well. All the things that you mentioned is what he said is happrning. I would stop it. When your doctor returns, give him a call. ________________________________ To: LBDcaregivers Sent: Wed, December 1, 2010 4:20:45 PM Subject: New Aricept 23?  I have a long story to tell but it will have to keep for the time being...my question is this: has anyone's loved one tired this and if so how have the results been? Mother WAS on the EXCHELON PATCH. We put her on Aricept 23 about 10 days ago and she is doing horrible. Guest guest
One of the side effects of Aricept has always been that it can cause gastrointestinal distress. My sister is on 25 mgs per day of Aricept, but we break it up: 10 mgs @ 8 am, 10 mgs @ 2 pm and 5 mgs @ 8 pm. When we tried to give her even 20 at one time, she started having nausea and diarrhea, so we broke it up and she's tolerated it well for the past two years. Check with the doctor and see it he will allow you to cut the pill in half and give it a few hours apart. > > I have a long story to tell but it will have to keep for the time > being...my question is this: has anyone's loved one tired this and if so how have > the results been? > > Mother WAS on the EXCHELON PATCH.
