Guest guest
hello all, i wanted to let you al lknow someithing that we are doing, and this is not OT. lol while we were fostering 2 dogs rescued from a puppy mill that was closed. her name is sparkles, she is a toypoodle/peke mix. weighs about 5 lbs. she is sooo cute. anway i had one night of terrible night terrors, was shaking, and had a hard time knowing htat it was just a dream, *by the way, donnie was at firend's house that nite, as they wer going fishing elary in teh morning* . i woke up to htis small ball of fluff cuddoing under my chin, with her little paws 'hitting ' me to wake me up, and her ging me kisses after each hit. as i was waking up , she demenaded that i pet her, so i did and as i did i quikcly calmed down and was able to regain my compsure adn konw then it was just a horrible dream. several days later, while i was in the bathroom, in pain, as i deal with chronic constaipatoin issues and hemooroids , yuck!!!!!! i was softly crying, she heard me and promptly rain to the bathroom adn sood up again st me whining to get picked up. well i gave in and was able to calm down and stopped crying which of course loosened up the rectum muscles and eased up allowing me to go to the bathoroom. after this happened, donnie and i discuessed sparkles and decided we needeed not only to adopt her but to also see about her becoiming my service dog adn start giving me some of my freedom back as my fears of lbd issues keeps me grounded at home or with donnie which keep sdonnie tethererd to me, not that he complains but i know he wants to be able to go fisihing once in ahilwe for a weekend or go golfing with his buddies and not worry so much about me. well we are now training sparkles to be my servcie dog. we are trainnig her to be my medicine reminder as i take morphone 3 times a day so she is being trained to remind me of htsoe time. you see dogs ahve great interena clocks al lyou have to do trigger them to set it. so right now we are using my cell hone alarms to het her used to the times adn i am making her come to me adn give me a few kisses and then i give her a treat at 2pm 10pm and 6am th treats reinforece the times. she will assoc those times with treeaets adn bug me to get it. lol i went to a meeting fo r volunteering with the coaliotion fo the homelss and seh was able to go with me and i was at this meeting with her fro over 2 hours adn i ddnt even get anxious. she sensed when i started getting that way and as she was sitting in my llap she woul d put her paws on my hand to be petted. at his meeting i brought her blanket, ia chew bone, adn play toy and some treats. but no seh wanted her blanket on my lap and prompy reseted nad slept iun my lap . she didnt want nayone else to pet her . it wasw soo good, and we ran errands too and i was out of the house for over 4 hours and i wasnt overly enzoius nor did i get car sick like i have in teh past. it was such a good feeling. this got me thinking again, wehn daddy became homebound, he loved my dogs, but they were my dogs, they would lay with him until i got up or i went to bed etc. they wuold always come twith me. daddy loved hicats so we got him one that was at teh vets offcie. stormy he is a beuafiul siamese tabby mix. from teh front adn top he is saimese, adn gorgeous. his veet adn tail or tabby with tiger stripes. so he is really odd bu t eye catching an dcute. well we trinaind stormy to stay with daddy , we fed him , had his water bowl and had is liteter box in the hall way awar from dady but nearby so that stomry basially stayed in teh room wth daddy. stormy woudl sit in daddy slap and wehn every dady had the pakrisnisoms start, the cat woudl run staright ot his lap and make daddy pet him and he would purrrr so loud you cuold hear storm thru the house. this would help keep daddy from gettin gfrustrated about the shakes and even i hitnk help ease them up as well. and on bad days hwen daddy was in the nh i would brin g stormy to him stormy wouldnt let anyone else pet him he would stiffen up esp at teh nh. but hwen i put him on daddy s bed, he would run up to daddy purring up a storm and curl up eithe rin daddys arms or on daddy s tummy or next ot daddy demanding to be lvoed. lol this again go t me htinking, would ti be good for an lbd'er in the early and middle stages have a good bonding with a pet. and if they bonding with the pet, helped ease other lbd issues, parkisninsms and lsseep, nite terrors, etc. and if as hte lbd advances, does thier pet continute to hel pease the fears and other lbd issues. does any one have any htoughts on this hugs. shaorn Come check out our new website. where you can get Food, Toys, & Tweets for your Furries & Beaks.
