, welcome to the group. Leading by example is a powerful thing and

I am sure will have an impact on your sons. Leading and not pushing

may be what they need. God bless on your road to health,

Barb,

With so many new members my memory fails me on who I have personal welcomed to the group. So, just in case I haven't, I want to welcome you now to the group. Your in the right place. Kim and can help you and hopefully your sons on the road to freedom and recovery.

Right now I too am also coming off of Lexapro, it's a tough one. Atleast for me. I'm also coming off of an antipsychotic - Geodon, and eventually will also taper off of Klonipin. Eating the right diet and taking supplements really does make a difference and gives your body the chance to heal itself.

I like to send my warm fuzzies to new member to keep you company when you feel alone, and to comfort you when you need it. Your in the right place. Again welcome.

Hello and welcome. I'm glad you finally discovered your autism (and this list).

I'm feeling body-old today (back pain) but, as usual, not much

different " inside " from what I've always been. Nevertheless, I am 56.

This is a somewhat late reply, but greetings. I know you from

LiveJournal, but I'm glad to see you've finally decided to join this

list as well-- it's one of the better ones in my opinion.

That's interesting, choosing Marketing as a career path, when so much of

Asperger points to not having the skills to deal with people face-to-face

or to read people's desires and intentions. Yet I am a telemarketer, and

am actually rather good at it.

Do you find that AS is somehow an advantage in Marketing? Oddly enough, I

think it might be. In my case, I'm reminded of a quote from Burns

(roughly): " The secret to being a great actor is ... sincerity.

Once you can fake that, the rest is easy. "

No offense intended, of course.

Where I work at (Captain D's, seafood restaurant), I work on the front

counter. I have to encounter customers everytime I work. At times, it's

good, but at other times it's hard for me. Fournately, my bosses

completely understand the fact that I have Asperger's, and have limited

my work hours to basically 2-3 days a week, 2-3 hours each day. I get

good pay, and will be staying for the foreseeable future. They

understand that I am challenged, and as I said before, they really

enjoy having me work there.
