Guest guest
Chantelle, I agree with you on this one. Not everyone on here is Christian and not everyone believes in " God " . I don't mind people talking about their faith in their god getting them through things, etc at all, that's not pushing it on others at all. But I'm not a fan of the " Take time to say this, etc etc " type of emails. I was just wondering if we can have a little brake from the religous prayres and such. I have nothing agenst it, but I am not sure whether they are ment as genuine kindnes or if they are condemming others. I would feel better if we just hold off for a little while. Guest guest
Chantelle, I totally agree. Each to their own but I hate people shoving their religion down my throat. There's a time and a place for it and this list is not one of them. I do believe in God and I do pray but I respect each and everyone's religion. Guest guest
Amy, As for how can you say you have one (in terms of a god)..some people are atheist on this list as well... Anyway, I don't want this to turn into a big sour issue(as religion can when there's a disagreement) within our CHARGE family - I think we have a wonderful thing going here. But, when you aren't into that type of thing, it does get bothersome after awhile. I always appreciate everyone talking about their children and what has gotten them through tough times and what continues to get them through everyday life. That's fine, it's the long preachy prayer type things that I don't feel have a place on the list. Even the little stories aren't so bad, they're even cute, but I don't want to hear about someone having mercy on me because I deleted something that was their belief. If I sent in a long speech about atheism and said have mercy on all of you who didn't forward it along, I " m sure some people would be very upset with me. So I don't. I guess that's just my feelings on things. I'm a very diplomatic person and my hope is that everyone can get along with this, I just want everyone to be happy and enjoy the list. Guest guest
, I agree. This list is WONDERFUL. I am so glad we have it. I delete things as well about passing them on. I don't believe in passing something on and having a " miracle " happen in 4 days. ( that was an example ) Besides, how many " miracles " can we have happened in a life time? Our CHARGErs are already a MIRACLE Amy Re: Prayers and such.... > > > > Chantelle, > > I totally agree. Each to their own but I hate people shoving their > religion > > down my throat. Guest guest
Hi Amy, I don't think anyone has any problems with you praying for them, at least I don't, I hope you do. I certainly pray for all you guys on a regular basis. The problem I have and I think the others do too is the tone of some of the emails. That one from the reverend in India was a case in point. He may have been totally genuine but he was very offensive to me and obviously to a lot of others as well. On a lesser note, I also find a lot of the " inspirational " poems pretty annoying, but hey, you can always just delete them. Cheers, Marea Howe Re: Prayers and such.... >Chantelle, > I am sorry to hear you feel this way. Me being a christian, I'm gonna >pray all day long and I will let others know when I am praying for them. " >Power of Prayer " .
