Guest guest
Thanks to all who welcomed me, tis truely a rarity in most groups. Norah...I am disabled so am getting SSI & SSA. Medicare is the primary & doesn't cover meds, The secondary is from the State & this is the 1 I'm having the problem with. Can't tell you how many times I have been turned down for going to recommended DRS and other things. I can't even get an insurance that covers meds because if I do the State will drop me & on $525 a month I can't afford much of anything. Can't sneak anything here. Once my mom bought me $100 worth of food. Somehow the SSI found out & made me pay them $200 back. The money should of gone to my mom but no, the state doubled it & made me pay $10 a month till I finally paid it off. Nice of them to let me make payments....HAH! I've noticed that neither candidate for Pres is even touching on the subject of we disabled people. I wonder if any of can live on $525 a month ?? Sorry guess I'm feeling sorry for myself today. Can't sleep & keep raiding the fridge plus have a DRs appointment tomorrow for Facets (multiple injections) in my shoulder......ouch!! Oh & I'm not a Rheumy, guess you don't have to have that to have FMS or maybe I'm weird..?? Blessings Angel.....waiting for rain in Arizona :-)) ******************************************************* Hi Angel... welcome to our little (make that ever-growing) FM family :-) Ooooh... and a fellow cat & dog person... woohooo... and I are proudly owned by 5 rescue cats and 1 Golden Retriever rescue. Fur has become impossible to keep up with so I know proudly wear all my fur when I go out. I can even name which piece of fur belongs to whom... hehehehe.I can't believe your insurance company denied the meds and physio therapy. Who are they to decide what your doctor prescribes... sheesh. Did you get an actual Doctor's written recommendation for therapy? I just don't understand how they can turn you down... That is just downright nasty. If it were up to me... I'd be going on a massive letter campaign and bring this kind of thing out into the open. Were you officially diagnosed by a Rheumy?I was on amitriptyline for awhile and I did find it to be helpful for sleeping which in turn helped ease some of the pain, but I weaned myself off of it with Dr's approval as the side effects were not tolerable for me. Elavil/Amitriptyline seems to be the drug of choice for Fibro, but there are a few other anti-depressants that are being used by many.I also use the TENS machine, massager, ice and heat packs, and the Salonpas patches. Not all at once mind you.. I'd look very silly... lol.I can't remember if I answered all your questions or not... I seem to be in a bit of a Fibro Fog today myself. Again... welcome to our group and looking forward to meeting you.welcoming hugs,Norah
Guest guest
Marie, had to laugh really hard at your side effect from Paxil. I am starting on them tomorrow. I don't have any male friends so this should help me from wanting one...LOL After 4 marraiges & tons of beatings & 13 years alone I wonder why I even think of men at all. Maybe it's all of these Pacino movies I keep watching, I think I'm in love...Angel....who didn't really say that, you just imagined it...:-/ Chris:Paxil 2omg. is a good drug.. the only side affect I had with it was no sexual desire.. other wise I thought it worked well..Marie
