Guest guest
When you go before the Judge, would it make a difference if you stated how many days a year you actually have him in your home? Would you be able to prove that & how much money you provide in addition to the support? Tracey

No suggestions, but I wish my husband were as good and involved a dad as your husband seems to be. I suppose you have an accurate account of hours that you have had him? I mean, it sounds as if you have had actual physical custody of him more than she has so why on earth are you paying child support???? If you added up the hours, I am not sure that my husband has spent 8 days all year with some of his kids. Certainly not Enrique, not sure he has spent 8 hours with Enrique but that is mostly due to Enrique. Salli

Now, this may not seem unreasonabe until you take into consideration that we arranged to have him all summer and still paid support. We paid for him to play little league, tennis, and swimming lessons over the summer. We bought his school clothes. We have 50% placement and this year we will have had him 8 days more than she will have had him. We already pay 75 dollars a month, provide all transportation, and health and dental insurance. & nbsp; All this plus our 50%. It is such BULLSHIT!!!! Wish us luck and thanks for listening. & nbsp; BTW, if you have any suggestions...... Guest guest
Yes, we have had him more and I have no idea why we have to pay anything. They are saying that it is not a yearly thing. That she has him more right now, so that's what counts. However, I know for a fact that when we determined the last time that it was so many days per year. This year, 2001, we will have had him at least 8 days more than she did. Before this summer, we had him on a rotating schedule that was coordinated to dh's work schedule. Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Then the next week Wednesday and Thursday. 7 days out of 14. But, we live 45 minutes away and gas has been so expensive that we wanted to figure out a way to reduce the trips back and forth. I mean school days we make two round trips!! That is what we are going to have to go back to now though becuase of all this crap. Guest guest
She works like 30 hours a week, so he makes more money. They take her income and his income and figure the difference and that is what we owe. Because we have him 50% and she has him 50%. Guest guest
Tamara, When my brother and his ex split there was NO child support. He has them as their primary residence, she gets them 2 nights each week and every other weekend. They are to alternate holidays and each has them for a month in the summer. Does she work at all? Can he counter her request and ask for support? Also, document everything you have said here about what you have provided and be sure the attorneys see it. Good luck!! Guest guest
We're going to try. Last time, we filled out all of the forms and wrote a letter explaining our point and he didn't even read it. He had no idea that we even had fifty percent placement. What a waste of time. Today was with a lady from child support and she told dh that it didn't matter that we had him all summer, just that she has him one day more a week that we do right now. (BTW, she would not let me come into the room with him either which is bull. It concerns me just as much as him and he would have kept him temper more with me there.) He told her to get a court date, cause we were not going to pay anymore. Problem is...it will probably go before the same judge as last time. We're going to try to get a change of venue to our county instead of hers. We'll see. I wish we could afford an attorney, but that is just not possible. So we're on our own. Guest guest
My brother made more than his ex, but since custody was joint, the child support was too.
