hi all,

i too am an 'old timer' here been here since may 2004 when dady was first

diagnosed, he passed away sept 2005, me i have been diag with lbd about 2 years

ago, i am in teh very early stages where most of us wouldnt even think about lbd

but isnce ih ave the same docs as my  dad and we had access to his records and

copies of mris to compare with mine we ahve come up with that diag esp since i

have new medicine issues were i am highly sensitived to meds hwere as i did not

used to be.  and i have unepslained falls, like i did the other day, was

walking to the trash can and hte next thing i knew i was on my hands and news on

the yard.  my knees are not that good in teh fist place but now i have a

mtching pair of bruises on them too.

i usually lurk and repond when i have help or comments to share.

we ahve been really busy the past 2 months. we ahve had 2 yard salesiwth my bff

on teh other side of town, so we had to go thru our shed and pick out what to

sell, adn then reprice them to yuard sale prices insetad of my former store

prices. then i had a craft fair for the coaltion of the homeless so i had to

make about 20 more blankets to havea sufficient amount to sell there.  and then

i found another craft fair at a chruch right up the street from us so we did

that and i am in a craft club where we make cross stitch swuares and 2 have

wondrful ladies that quilt them togeter to make a beauifuful quilt for a local

senior nh and also a domestic violence shelter and the local ronald mcdonald

house. due to lbd i cannot follow a design anymore, so i just make the cards

that we put iwth the quilts to present them  so that is alot of fun an since i

dont have to stich i can do what i want and mkae pretty crds. i enjoy it alot.

and then we are still fostering dogs we now take 2 at a time. so we normally we

have 8 dogs as we have 6 of our own, plus our birds/rabbits and then one cat and

one ditty (doggie + kitty=ditty)  a cat who thinks/acts like a dog.  it is so

much to foster, and yes we get attached to the dogs,  which is why we own 6 in

stead of 4 lol, but we also know if we adopt more we cant help save other dogs.

the rescue groups we foster for all, do home checks etc. so the dogs will not

get into another situation where they are dumped at shelter or rescued from

awful situations.  adn let me tell you , when you are fostering an

abused/neglected/mistreated animal. nothing is more satisfyng then receivn that

first kiss from tehm when they start to trust you .  or the fact that they now

cuddle with you on the couch instead of hide under the bed.  such a beautifl

thing.

those with lbd'ers please remember that too much excitement is not good for

your loved one.  limit visiters to one /two at at time.  and please please

please remind your family members/friends that just because your l/o has lbd

doesnt mean taht they dont understand when they are being talked about etc.  my

daddy got very angry when a neighbor said, boy your daddy looks so bony he used

to be such a good looking man.  they said this in front of daddy and he

remembered it later and yelled at me about it, his feelings were hurt.  i was

soooo mad at that person, i did discuss this with them later, but i never had

them visit daddy again.  sheesh,  people dont understand lbd and becuase our

lo's dont communicate people ASSUME that they dont comprehend anyting either.

donnie, myself and all the murray gang wish everyone a merry christmas, happy

holidays and may the new year bring love, happiness and a cure/treatment for

lbd.  hugs.  sharon m

I know you both now. I am new (a few months) to this site, but have been wecomed

by everyone. Talked to my cousin Jim in St. Cloud, MN yesterday, just before the

snow brought down the dome in Minneapolis. You guys are having a white Cristmas

aren't you. Bet you could do with a little less of the white. We don't get much

of that here north of Seattle. But we have enopugh rain so that there is a lake

of standing water in our back yard. Don't want it to get too much bigger or we

will have water in the crawl space beneath the house. Not good.

Moines. A state wide blizzard warning with highways and interstates closed down

last evening. I hear all are open now. Today windchill warnings with current

temp. of 10 with -6 windchill. No complaints though. All are healthy here and

just another winter day in Iowa. Big hugs- Sandie
