Guest guest
I just want to share I learned recently there is a generic for Zofran which helps with cost AND there is also a form that dissolves in the mouth without need to swallow anything. Generic is Ondansetron, tablet form is HCL and the dissolve in the mouth form is ODT (my guess is " oral dissolvable tablet " ?). We have been using it for my mother in law this week and it's fantastic - works fast and dissolves quickly on the tongue. I did not know about Zofran until an emergency room doc suggested it for my mil during a visit - I of course was very concerned because I know the others are bad news for LBD/Parkinson's but he explained Zofran works not in the brain but at some sort of receptor cells in the stomach lining. She did really fine on it, even via the iv line. I have had the tablet form since then but recently learned of the generic and the " ODT " form which is really great.
