Guest guest Posted January 28, 2011 Report Share Posted January 28, 2011 not sure of good resources off hand, have you tired dr leonards on line they have alot of great stuff,  my personal preference AND daddy s of all the thickeners was thick it brand. it tasted the least slimy in water. now it did have an aftertaste in coke etc, but it was pretty good in milk and juices, another way to thicken things like juices is it make smoothies but add more liquid so it is not that thick. add ice to juices and blend, we also used pudding mix, in a glass of milk thickend the milk into a tasty thicker choc milk, and i tasted everything i gave to daddy as if i didnt like it how could i make him drink it, neither of cared for ensure/boost etc, but i heard thay have come along way since then but i dont know, dont want to find out till i hafe too.  if your loved ones like sodas, the old fashiond origianl slurpees from 7 - 11 are great, again coke and curshed ice blended quickly together. also for juice concentrates dont add as much water also thickens it.  i learned alot of little trickes, right now i dont ahve any swallowing issues but do have drooling, esp when laying down on side like when i sleep. this has nothing to do with my teeth issue as i just started the drooling and havce teeth issues long before this.  also your pharmcay may be able to ordera quantity for you giving you a 'deal' if you buy hte case. another htough, esp if you deal with a pharmacy for a long time.  lets see, carol wrights may be able to help you. also check the alzheimers site they may have some resources. or call your local seniors agency  council of aging AND hte elders affarais offcie they have great resources.  hope this helps, hugs sharon Subject: thick it To: LBDcaregivers Date: Friday, January 28, 2011, 5:06 PM  Anyone know good resources for Thick it?
