Hi all,

Hope all is getting along ok and coping during our daily journey with our Loved

Ones! Its good days and bad days for us as we struggle with this disease seeing

it on a daily basis.

My Mom has always hallucinated ever since she has had this crazy disease about a

year and half ago.

She has been in a nursing home for 8 months now.

She hallucinated during this time of getting married and divorced, men, sex, all

of that in her mind, which is NOT HER AT ALL.

Oh get this, one day last week, I was pushing Mom down the hallways just to get

out of her room. I don't ever hardly never do this, but for some reason, just

wanted to drive her around in her wheelchair. So we went up and down hallways,

and she stopped me abrutly when she saw this man named ED, who is in rehab with

her. She said, , I want you to meet my friend, ED, and so I stopped and

their wheelchairs were next to each other, and she had the biggest smile on her

face::)))

and she said, Ed, this is my daughter, and so he started talking to me,

and I talked back nicely to him, thinking, Mom sees to be a little smitten with

this man, but I didn't really know

So when we left him, she said to me, oh how she was so glad I talked to him and

met him and that how she was shy and quiet but really wanted to get to talk to

him and me to meet him. She must of been fantazing about him, haha!

Well, that was all she could talk about was Ed. Ed is a nice looking man,

younger than Mom, probably in his 70's I figure. He is a tall looking nice

built man, Mom's type, lol! I don't know what is wrong with him, but he is in

rehab for now. I don't know if he is married or what his story is I didn't ask

him.

So Sunday when I was up there, a lady we knew from about 8 months ago when Mom

first moved in this nursing home is back from breaking her leg this time in

rehab and will go home. Well, this lady is a big gossip, and smiles all the

time and wants everyone to love on her, she is sweet, but never ever shuts up

talking. In fact, gives MOm a headache. Well, its all about this lady. Mom

said to us at the dining table Sun., there goes my boyfriend over at that table

over there, but he is looking for me, she said. She stared over there like she

was in love, haha! And so she motioned the two aide guys to come to our table.

She told one she was in love!! Then she told the other guy to go tell Ed

something, I forgot now, but something like she is in love. He looked at her

and laughed and I don't know what in the world he was thinking. They are all

from Ethopia, and I don't know what their culture is over there, but he must of

thought my Mom was one funny woman in love! The lady at the table laughed and

talked about that. Yesterday, at the table, mom's other friend was there that

lives there permanently with Mom and the other lady. And Mom said Ed is over

there, and the lady started gossiping and blabbing about how she just thinks its

so funny Mom likes this Ed. Mom's other friend is so serious but can be funny

too, just listened and smiled. She must think Mom has lost it. ha! Because Mom

always kept her hallucinations and things to herself prior to breaking her arm,

so I don't know if Vada realizes Mom has this lewy body, I never told her. She

isn't hallucinating now, its real. Nothings hurt by it, its just something that

keeps Mom going and if its with a real man, so be it.

It kinda embarrassed me, as I thought, what do all these people think about this

87 yr. lady talking like this??? !!! My Mom has always said things that were

SHOCKING though at times, so it does shock me but not really. It probably

shocks others. Oh well, if you live in a place like that you need to laugh at

things.

Of course, Mom still hallucinates about this and that, but has anyone had their

loved one find a " real " love in a nursing home?

I just don't know what to think about this.

God bless!
