Guest guest
Casey, You'll do fine, you always do! You'll be a great person to speak to a University class, I was scared to death to talk in front of the public health nurses at their regional meeting, but it really went fine once I got going. It's something you know your stuff about, so just do what you do best!! In answering Sally I thought I'd let you know what's going on around here.. am a tad bit busy <G>First off I got the job with the county !!! I haven't got the oficial word yet as the boss was out all last week sick but everyone in the office has alled and congatulated me.. The official title will be Parent Professional Partner.. the job is kinda a catch all, I'll be co-ordinating services for families through the school, mental health, justice, welfare, CPS, respite.. whatever.. in CA it's under the general idea of wraparound services... it's only part time to begin with but they already have said they have enough work for at least two full time positions.. Brand new thing for this county and I get to get in on the first floor and define the job... I'm really hyped about it.The second thing that's got me wound up is that Wednesday night I will be giving a presentation to a University class of middle and high school administrators on Special Education from a parents point of view. Trying to work out some sort of outline this morn.. I don't want to be too negative and give them some positive feedback and ideas... hope I don't choke <G>The CHARGE Weekend is coming along.. have a few donations, working on others... oh heck it's gonna be fun anyway..The latest bother is that the school has informed me they want to retain Aari in the second grade next year.. haven't quite worked that one out in my head but I don't think I'm gonna be going for it. As a matter of fact I'm going to push for total communication for him (combo sign and oral, we use it at home) that will prolly really throw them on their ears (oh well). Time to call an IEP....anyway that's why I haven't been really active on the list.. do read everything but I can't seem to jump in real often..Sen some good vibes for Wed.. I'm shaking in my boots over it....CaseyMom to Dawn 21 HH, Ken 10 ADHD, 8 CHARGEICQ 728514 AIM ZeeCaseyCHARGE Web Page:http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/1220 For information about the CHARGE Syndrome Foundation or to become a member please contact marion@... or visit the CHARGE Syndrome Foundation web page at http://www.chargesyndrome.org
Guest guest
Casey - Congrats on the new job! The families in your county probably won't know how fortunate they are to get to work with someone like you. I'm even a little envious. I wish we had you here. Let us know how things go.
