Guest guest
Alenna, I thought I was the only one who doesn't do houework, or very little. I tried sitting on a stool, but even that was too difficult. Because I can't stand for any length of time, the house doesn't get cleaned unless my husband does it, and he is pretty good at it. I used to have a spotless house, but now I'm ashamed to have anyone visit. Last night my mother-in-law phoned. She had been watching a program on post pardem depression. She asked my husband " could that be why Norma is depressed?" Give me a break, I haven't been pregnant for 26 years! lol. I don't try anymore to explain about bipolar disorder or fibro, she just doesn't get it. Maybe one day I'll feel better and feel more productive in my life. Right now I feel useless. Norma -- Kristy-- SSDI*-Alenna Kristy, My advice would be lie. I don't do housework. They do not like to hear that you do housework at all. I said that I try to do some housework because my poor husband can not do it all,but that we all suffer because my condition limit what could be done. I can not mop or sweep the floors so they just don't get done, nobody scrubs the bathroom. The tables and shelves can go

OMG NO!!! *ROFL* Sweetie, you are ***NOT*** in this boat alone!!! I haven't been able to do housework regularly for about three years. When I applied for disability last year, I flat-out told 'em the truth: our dirty clothes would stay in the hampers until I felt well enough to wash them, or hubby had time; when he was deployed, I didn't WEAR clean clothes until I could do laundry (the laundry was too heavy, the bending over & over to move things from washer to dryer was too much for my lower back, as was removing clothes from the dryer)...I generally wandered around the house in a robe, or a slip, or whatever I'd slept in (I never went out much, as I'm agoraphobic, but if I had to, I'd wear anything that was clean...even if it meant sweats in 100-degree weather, or summer outfits in winter). Clean clothes stayed in piles until I felt well enough to do something with them...etc. etc. etc. I could write a novel on the things that weren't getting done. Now, I'm living with my MIL & teenaged SIL, and they drive me NUTS. I am the ONLY one who does any housework AT ALL...yet I'm the one with all the health problems & who has to live off of disability. It mortifies me -- they just dump their clothes all over the floor (clean, dirty, whatever) and step on them, they never do any dishes, they clean their litterbox maybe once in a blue moon....disgusting!! And I'm hardly a "neatnick"...but I cannot deal with such a pigsty, especially with my SIL inviting her friends over. She doesn't care though...nor does my MIL...and I go through the house at least once a week when I'm able & vac, pick up dirty dishes, throw nasty laundry in a pile, etc... My husband and I live in the top half of the house, and even we clean our room at least once a week, if not more often, because neither of us can abide living in such a pit. Bleah! W hen I'm unable to do anything, though...it goes undone, or hubby does it. ~ Eri

Guest guest
I WISH I didn't have to do housework!! Of all the things that cause pain it is one of the worst. But alot of that is my fault because I put things off and put things off until I end up having to clean the house from top to bottom over the course of a weekend. Just don't have energy to do it in the evenings. Guess it's really a no win situation. N. > BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA > > No housework here....
