well, i'm obviously not kelly, but my grandfolks make this nasty little

concoction of honey, lemon juice, and whiskey (i think). they've been using it

for yearrrrrs. they swear by it. of course, i wouldn't touch it with a ten foot

pole, but that's another story ;)

Ya, I have something from an old RCAF cookbook that my great-grandma

gave me with a recipe called " Cure For Whatever Ails You " or

something close. There's an involved preparation of boiling spices

like cinnamon, cloves, etc. And then you add that to the " secret "

ingredient. Basically, this " cure " is just 99% Jamaican Rum mixed

with some boiled spices...lol. Thanks, but I'll skip the spices...

Cheers,

My Dad was a radar tech at Churchill. My uncle was a

25 year man; he served as a flight mechanic.

Ok...here's the deal.

Don't bother with echinaciea. It won't help you at this point. What aill tho, is

this. Get some chamomile tea, and some eucalyptus stuff (halls vapor stuff works

well, especialy if you can add it to the bath or something. Close yourself in

the bathroom, and draw a bath as hot as you can stand it. Add the chamomile to

the water, let it soak for about 5-10 minutes (you may wanna leave the tea in

the teabags!) add a lot of tea...there is a lot of water. you want the tea-bath

to be strong. Add the vapor bath to a bowl of hot water next to the tub, but not

in it!!!! Soak. You need to try and stay in the tub for like 15-30 minutes at

least, but an hour is best. DO NOT DRINK OR EAT ANYTHING COLD FOR TE TIME YOU

ARE IN THE BATH OR 30 MINUTES FOLLOWING. Doing so will cause your muscles that

you just soothed adn relaxed to seize up again. Do this as often as you

can...it's multipurpose. 1, it relaxes all the muscles that are all tightened

up, and helps the healing process. 2, it thins and loosens the mucas in your

lungs, thus helping your body remove it. Anytime youstart feeling tight, try to

get to a steamy room that is nice and warm. Trust me, this will work, and this

is one of those things that is good to use for small kids too!!!

Good luck babe!!

This is a GREAT remedy!!! Minus the whiskey, of course. You DEFINITELY do NOT

want alcohol in your system when you are ill. Lemon is a natural expectorant,

and honey is a natural antibiotic. Hot water loosens everything up.

I'm not , but can I answer anyways? If you can find it, horehound candy is

great for coughing. It's an old fashion hard candy. Also, there are some

herbal teas especially for coughing (they usually have horehound in them too

because it's an herb). Pepperment is good for sore throats.

Hope you're feeling better today, Jacquie.
