( Ellerbee) My not-that-crazy-idea: it's an explicit acceptance of social slavery: " I will play by the Right Rules and will be led like by the neck by the Right Persons, if you say the Right Words and pay the Right Money " ;-) The origins of the " Krawatte " - in Germans means " Croatian " , they were mercenaries in Austrian armies and wore colored triangular scarves on their backs as a sort of unit ID flags. Very similar to those of Pioneers, children organization in former Communist countries. (Cuba and China still use them, I think). Here we wore these ties/scarves every day at school, they were quite loose and unnoticeable to wear, but colourful to look. (red for Communism, bordered by Romania's tricolor national flag: blue-yellow-red.) The Higher-Ups made the common-sense decision not to associate them with ugly political things, but more with youth honor, school and science achievements sort of like your Scout Badge. Thank you for thinking on this, Mircea Pauca, Bucuresti, Romania
Guest guest
Actually, I find a suit and tie on the right man, to be very sexy. > > > > If men can run the world, why can't they stop wearing neckties? Guest guest
The Israeli's don't wear ties. On the BBC, the new leader of Bolivia wearing a pullover sweater was shown meeting with other world leaders wearing ties. I bet the executives at Google and Apple don't wear ties. I don't wear hats or gloves. Pants for women is so acceptable I haven't worn a dress in six years. Actually, my rule is: if it's formal, I'm not going. ~Bonnie - - - > My not-that-crazy-idea: it's an explicit > acceptance > of social slavery: " I will play by the Right Rules > and > will be led like by the neck by the Right Persons, > if > you say the Right Words and pay the Right Money " ;-) > __________________________________________ Yahoo! I can definitely confirm that one for Apple-- Steve Jobs is quite well known for giving his corporate keynote speeches in a turtleneck and jeans! -- Cody B. / " codeman38 " cody@... http://www.zone38.net/
